First , the park itself is definitely worth spending time at and was visually stunning. The South Rim drive has some extraordinary stops . Dont miss the East portal drive , takes you to the canyon floor . Bring your lunch. Secondly, the campground itself is pretty disappointing to be honest. We love National Parks and understand there are some places that you just cant get every facility. But the planning here is poor. Where you turn off the main road to go to the campsites ,is in the middle of a blind curve so be careful pulling out on to the main road. Some of the sites sit right next to the road in the campground, our steps on our camper where actually on the road itself and could not open the canopy either because it would have been actually out in the driveway. This place was set up for tent camping probably in the sixties but they sell the sites for RVs and many are not compatible. There is no water at the sites but there is one place to refill containers. Why they cant install a well or have storage tanks is perplexing. There is also no dumping station in the park so be aware of that as well. The electric is newly renovated and that is excellent. The NPS really needs to step up their game on the camping aspect of this park and it would be a top ten place to visit.

Easy pull-through site, beautiful surroundings fairly separate from other sites, trail right to the canyon. I attended two evening programs at the amphitheater, both interesting.

The campground is very nice and we enjoyed our stay. Our only complaint is the site was right on the road and very narrow. We could not use the fold out bed on the left side if our camper. If that was in the description when I made the reservation I missed it!

The camp hosts were awesome! The place is beautiful with gorgeous views and hikes. Very nice campground.

easy access to the rest of the park! car camped here, instead of setting up tent, because i was stargazing till 3:30am and it was just more convenient! vault toilets only!
