This site is great! A little close to some of the surrounding campsites, but I love the layout of A7. Had a deer that liked to hang out behind the car parking spot in the bush to eat a snack. We scared each other a couple times but she was curious and never darted off. We probably stood 10 feet apart making eye contact a couple times.

Beautiful campground but be prepared for no running water or light at the bathrooms. Sites private and very close to the loop road

Great campsite for our tent, excellent view of the night sky for stargazing, quiet at night.

Site A007 is a great one for tent camping. It's a large site surrounded by scrub oak that provides partial shade all day and really helps provide some protection from gusty winds. Lots of birds in the campground and a deer that wandered through the sites. Pit toilets were kept supplied and clean. Note that the parking space is only large enough for one truck or car.

Had site A7. I loved the tree cover and it was just a short walk to the toilets and to the drinking water. I also enjoyed hiking from my campsite along the rim to the visitor center and then Oak Flat Trail. Would definitely stay here again.

My drive to the South Rim was very nice, especially with the storm clouds brewing. The woman at the entrance booth was so friendly and enthusiastic! (You don't find that too often anymore.) When we got to our campsite, we had to wait in the car about an hour due to the downpour, but I WILL NOT complain about rain when we are desperate for it!! I wrote postcards instead. The sites are so nice and spaced out perfectly. I walked the loop a few times that evening and it was nice to see so many people outside enjoying themselves! I wasn't able to hike any trails since I had my dog with me because of the restrictions (which I totally understand), so early in the morning, I made quick stops at the lookout areas to take in the awesome views! A wonderful overnight adventure!

We've been to Rocky mountain for years because it's ours and it's close. And the sand dunes long time ago and Mesa Verde I've been saving this one I don't know why because it is amazing we were lucky to spend 4 days there got to see several sunsets to sunrises glorious Colorado midday skies this place is incredibly beautiful. And for those people who were complaining that there's no place to eat in the park come on drive 20 miles down to Montrose the campsites were indeed close together but it was very cozy in those gamble scrub oaks and we met quite a few nice people up there highly recommend this is a hidden gem it is a long drive from fort Collins but it was worth it next time we'd like to raft out the Gunnison where it's a little less steep on the outflow to Delta. Amazing place we're lucky here in Colorado

We reserved site 7A for three nights, stayed two. The sites are really close together, and while we have a very small (5x8) teardrop, it was so tight we had to edge around our trailer canopy to move around, trying to avoid the upright pylons. For a tent, it would be fine, but 2/3 of the site is inaccessible due to the uprights. Some of the sites seemed pretty good, drive through, but the larger rigs had to park right alongside the road, no where to get off. The vault toilets are clean and the area is well maintained. There’s not many options for camping in Black Canyon, and it’s spectacular. I just wish there was more information available in advance so you know what you’re getting.
