We were evacuated in a calm, efficient manner that saved us and our property from damage.

Our site (B014) had a 4-foot round and over 1-foot-high bolder right in the middle of the site even though it was supposed to be able to accommodate a 30-foot trailer. I tried to put the rock on the driver's side of the trailer, but then the door opened into a tree/bush. We ended up having to have this boulder right under the trailer. But could not back all the way in because it would hit the axle. The Park Ranger we spoke with said to post a review. The rock needs to be removed from the site.

Campsites are tight so you need to review the length restrictions carefully. Bathrooms were clean and campsite was well maintained. Campground lay-out afforded privacy between campsites.

Vault toilets were not being cleaned. Road construction, while necessary, was a downer with all the noise.

Beautiful area and our two sites were nice and spacious. You have to bring in your own water for everything other than for drinking. All water is hauled up to the valley so it has to be conserved. No dump station in the park. Be sure to view the night sky and attend park ranger talks.

Very quiet campground. Enjoyed the sunset at Sunset Point.

Sites were very densely spaced and the campground was almost completely booked. Though closely spaced it was relatively quite. Sites had low growing oaks and brush that shielded other campsites to some extent. The vault toilets were not well maintained with a lot of flies and overall stench but were also heavily used.

Sites were clean, felt very private with all the trees. Bathrooms were clean and always well stocked with toilet paper. It was nice and quiet and night. We loved that we were so close to all the lookouts on Rim Road and that we could visit in the evenings easily when it wasnt busy.

I was surprised to find 50 amp power at a National Park campground. No other hook-ups but what we really needed was 50 amps to keep our car charged for touring around. The first night we popped the upstream breaker and had to wait until morning to contact the campground host. He was very nice and reset the upstream breaker but explained that the campground basically lies. While each post has a 50 amp plug, the upstream breakers are all 30 amps. It really is a 30 amp campground with incorrect campsite post connections. Fortunately there is a supercharger just down the hill in Montrose so all was not lost. The trash drop is a bit of a hike, only available at the entrance. No water except water bottle filling station and no dump station. Just knowing what you have to work with is half the battle. I'd stay here again with the real knowledge of what is available, not what is listed.

Definitely worth the trip, the canyon is WOW. Campground was a good overnight, just not much scenery there.Do try the star party, really great look at galaxies, nebula and planets. All in all a great stay.
