We enjoyed staying in the campground. The sites were clean and in great condition. There were lots of trees to make it feel private and we had plenty of room for our camper. We'd recommend for anyone that wants to experience of the Black Canyon, to say nothing of the night sky.

Campground was good - we had electric hook up which was nice. Pit toilets, and they ask that we limit our water use. Lots of short hikes from overlooks and the campground. Pictures dont capture how beautiful it is.

Small sites, vault toilets. Value here is in the location.

Nice pull through site with electric. Close enough to the pit toilets that we got some aromas when the wind was right. Note that the fire ring and picnic table are on the left side of the site.

Definitely do all the stops on the scenic drive, all of them are so different and provide many different perspectives of the canyon.

This was the best value site we stayed on. It was peaceful & we thoroughly enjoyed all the trails through the park. We even saw a baby bear!

The campground overall is very nice. Excellent separation between sites! No serious issues.

We had a problem with Recreation.gov! We reserved a site for one night 10/8, right up until everything became first come (the website wouldn't lets us reserve the actual last night, that was 10/9 this year. But then a card appeared on our post for that last night! I don't know how, but someone did what we couldn't! This kerfuffle should not be possible in a digital world!! Local staff got things workable, but they tried to put the new folks in a non-pull through site. This could have been a really mess.

Recreation.gov should get this sorted. It happens every year at many sites!

I spent about 5 hours riding the rim, stopping at each overlook and taking time to soak in the view. It was a lovely time on a cool October day. I stayed two nights in the campground which as very clean and quiet after the day trippers got off the rim road. All in all, a great experience and recommended.

Very nice campground with electric hook up in loop B. Rustic with pit toilets but to be expected up that high. Nice walking trail to some canyon sites. Overall the sights around the park are tremendous. We also had a nice ranger presentation at the campground amphitheater.

Campgrounds were clean and quiet. Lack of good shade though, bring an umbrella in the summer

The campsites are easily accessible and very clean. A very nice 1 mile trail to the visitors center along the canyon rim is a big bonus. The nearby amphitheater had an evening ranger-led program which was very entertaining. Be aware there's no cell service or wifi so plan accordingly.

The site host was a great resource for this first-timer - she was incredibly helpful and recommended a bunch of good stuff to see and do. Pit toilets were clean, and having the ability to get water was a great plus.

There are few very few amenities, unlike other National Parks. This park charges $30.00 to get in even if you have a reservation. There is water but it is restricted use because they have to truck it in. There are no trailer dump stations in the park. There are no free dump stations around Montrose. There is no shower station. A family of 4 our grey-water was full by the first day due to showering. Mesa Verde is way ahead of this park. The trailer spaces are tight and cramped, if there are others trying to set their trailer next to you there may not be room to pass around until they were done.

Be prepared for steep trails.

Don't stay on the south side of the A loop in the campground. You will hear the folks at the ranger employee housing quarters going on till 2-4 am.

One of the most beautiful places I have ever been to. The ranger was really informative and friendly and the camping sites are spacious and private.

It was so nice to have close proximity to the national park's main developed area, and maybe even nicer to have electricity at the campsite for a relatively low price. I like that my site had a fairly private wooded area around the picnic table and fire pit. I liked to have a pull-through site but did not like that, given the one-way road, my trailer door was on the "wrong side."The park was quiet the first night but had some kind of noisy campers on the Friday of Memorial Day weekend. It wasn't a tragedy since I had a good source of white noise. I can imagine that on a typical weekend the place is very peaceful. There is easy access to some of the park's trails from one of the campground loops. Unfortunately I didn't have enough time to fully utilize them.I will return if I am back at Black Canyon, which itself is an amazing thing.

Spectacular park and especially enjoyed the night skies. A local sky watching group brought in their telescopes so we could have a close up view of some of the planets and their moons. It was the highlight of our 5-week trip in the southwest.

Great campground and having electricity was a bonus. This is probably the darkest place I've ever been. The volume of visible stars is incredible, add binoculars and it's just mind blowing. We can't wait to stay here again.
