Stayed in site 29. It was a little tight getting my 38 ft DP in the spot but i was able to do it. after leveling the front tires were off the ground. But had room for my toad and the site is nice. Real close to the bath house. Bath houses are clean and well done. Water is hot but there is no heat. we were there when temps were in low to mid 40s so it was an issue if you used the shower. The Campground is well maintained and sites are spacious. Its a great clean quite CG. There was a host on the property. All in all i would recommended. there were some sites that were more level than the one i picked but it was workable.

Very nice campground. It was a distance from just about any stores or town but that also makes it a great place to go.

35 ft. travel trailer, easy in and out. Clean bathrooms. Decent cell reception, verizon. We saw a bobcat one night - exciting. Nice hiking trails. Great visitor center, gracious rangers. Very curvy access roads, but doable. Be sure to take the drive to see Twin Arches, park, then hike a moderate .7 miles one way with multiple stairways. We had to rest on the way, but worth it!

Nice campground with large campsites. They can accommodate big rigs (over 40ft) in some of the sites. Some of the corners and turns in the campground are tight for big rigs and good luck making the u-turn to get in to the dump site (poor design and needs to be updated). I wasn’t even willing to try, just skipped it and found a Loves down the road. Lots to do and see in the area. Would definitely consider another trip.

We arrived at 3:30 on 6/11/2021 as scheduled. When we arrived there was no one at the check-in station. A Ranger approached us and gave us directions to our campsite and we never saw anyone at the check-in station again. I don't even know how they knew it was us! We wound up leaving at 10:00 a.m. on 6/13/2021, one day early, due to power outages. There was a nearby storm and the power was out most of the night and then it would come on and go off frequently. We were charged $96.00 for 3 nights and only stayed 2 nights. We have not received a credit for our early checkout. We only stayed 2 nights and should only be charged $46.00. But, how would they even know because they don't even know when we arrived! We never had our name and date of departure pinned to our site # post nor were we ever approached or asked who we were. We went by the check-in station more than once and nobody was there! It would be nice to have all of our stay refunded, but I understand that they can't control the weather. But I would at least like to be refunded due to the early departure,
No reservation necessary. All you have to do is show up and get on a site. They are unaware of who is coming and going. The campground was pretty crowded so they must be making money. We used to stay here years ago and it was quite different. If you pulled in and the check-in station was unattended they would eventually come by your site to verify/confirm your reservation. We would receive a pass to come and go in our vehicle. No pass necessary now. Anyone can come and go at any time. This is a beautiful area, but not managed very well. Especially if you want to stay in the campground.

This is a review of Brandy Creek campground located at the Big South Fork National River and Recreational area near the border of Tennessee, Kentucky and Virginia. Not Brandy Creek located in California. The campground is remote, quiet, clean, private and somewhat big rig friendly. We camped in a 36-foot 5th wheel during the weekend of the spring planning Festival. Even during this busy part of the camping season there were empty campsites. There only a few 50-amp service campsites and only one of four areas that has electricity. The washrooms are clean - showers has lots a hot water. The water is obviously softened because it takes a long time to wash off the soap. Big South Fork is one of the top destinations for the horse trails in the Southeast. More than half the trailers in the electrical area were long horse trailers. The horse stables are about a mile from the campground. There are no first come first serve sites you need to make a reservation. Big South Fork is one of the better dark-skies areas in the southeast. It is also a top destination for Whitewater canoes. Big South Fork is one of the very few parks in the National Park system which allow dogs complete free access to all the trails and even the buildings as long as they are on a leash.

Now for the bad, the “Park” is very big, one of the largest in the southeast this means often an hour-long drive on winding roads to reach an interesting hiking trail head. The entrance from the east from Oneida Tennessee Highway 297 is one of the steepest in the southeast. It is a 13% grade with four switchbacks; however, at the foot of this canyon is one of the prettiest rivers in the southeast.
We camped at Big South Fork National River & Rec Area, Bandy Creek Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
