We have camped at Bandy Creek several times. It is only a couple of hours from our house, and it is a GREAT campground! Nice bath houses, with a dishwashing station. The campsites are generally very good, and some are open all year. We love Big South Fork, for its beauty, and it is much less crowded than the Smokies. So many trails to explore! One could easily stay a week or longer here, and never get bored.

This campground was great. We stay in State Park campgrounds usually but decided to give Bandy Creek a try. We were not disappointed. Many of campsites are fairly private and all the utilities work well. Infact we had an issue with the water hookup and several park employees as well as the campground host came to help get it corrected. Bathhouses are well maintained and clean. Even though this campground is a regular attraction for those with a horse the horses are not allowed in the campground area (very nice!). Instead the campground offers a very nice stables area. We will definitely camp here again.

There was a very large group of campers occupying 4 adjacent sites. They were extremely disruptive, noisy, inconsiderate of campers at nearby sites including ours. They had at least 10-12 small children riding electric carts, bikes, skateboards in the service road. This caused safety issues not to mention the noise and disruption to us. At no point did the camp host, park ranger, or anyone associated with the campground respond to this mess. This went on for 3 days, Fri to Sun.

Our site was nice and clean with plenty of space. Check in was easy, dump station was cleaner than most. We enjoyed our hikes and will be back to hike some more. Bathrooms were dated, and cleanliness was an 8 on a 10 scale. My only complaint was the noisy drunken family reunion at the four sites surrounding us. Of course this is not the fault of the campground, but a visit from a Ranger around midnight may have helped. We will be back, but during the week.
