Quiet campground with clean restrooms and showers. Lots of great hiking in Big South Fork NRRA.

We really enjoyed the campsite and the surrounding area (the mine, the river, etc).
Only small complaint was that the campsites were very close together. Overall beautiful place and I will be back again

Lucky to get a site during the summer but disappointed that the site was next to a swampy area with many mosquitos. Definitely the direst bathrooms and showers I have ever seen in a public bathroom. We were there for two nights and the bathrooms and showers were not cleaned. Peeling paint was the showers were in the drains as was other debris. Mud was in the sinks and shower areas most likely from children who were riding their bikes during the rain storms that came through. No campground host that we could see so no one making sure that noise restrictions were enforced.

The campground is an older one that was probably, originally built for tents. Many of the sites will not hold big rigs, although there are a few that do. The sites are close together, but not so close that you could pass a cup of sugar from inside your camper. But be advised, there are only 30 amp hookups. And, it is quiet! No noisy highway traffic that wakes you up from jake brakes. The campground is nicely located to many hiking trails, as well as a horse camp. We hiked Split Bow Arch with small children and there were no complaints about being too long, too hot, too steep! If so inclined, it is a relatively short drive to Cumberland Falls State Park. One can also kayak or tube the river nearby. Overall, a really nice base camp for all kinds outdoor activities.
