Great place to stay! Flat tent pad backed up to the woods (site 15). Restrooms/shower house very clean. Warm inside with plenty of hot water for shower. Sites are with walking/running distance of Blue Heron Loop trail which I highly recommend. I will be back for sure!

We had a great time at this site and will definitely be back. The camp hosts were amazing and walked around and introduced themselves and chatted with us a bit. Very friendly and available. Bathrooms were clean. Quietest campground we have been to in awhile.

Blue Heron campground is a gem for quick access to the Big South Fork River and all the sights and history surrounding this northern part of the Big South Fork Park. The campground is clean and well laid out to provide convenience and privacy. The bath house was always clean and stocked. The showers had hot water. We respected the dont move firewood request but the availability of local or treated firewood in the region seemed nonexistent. There is plenty of downed firewood, but you have to be capable of gathering the firewood and getting it back to your campsite. The Host campsite was not occupied and frequent campers said it has not been occupied for a couple years. This site should be returned to the list of reservable sites for this campground.

Generally a very quiet and clean campground. Well maintained facility. Both days of our stay were disturbed (even before 7 a.m. on Friday) by a work crew sealing cracks and preparing to re-pave (not the crew's fault, that is their job). Our whole purpose was to enjoy some peace and quiet in the outdoors. I was going to request a refund through recreation.gov but the system would not offer it to me (I followed all the instructions and even went through the help files). Very disappointed in recreation.gov and I will be very hesitant to use it in the future.
