Quite and well taken care off. Sites a little short but manageable.

Mr. Perry was such an excellent staff member. He was so helpful and cheerful every time I talked to him.

Spent one evening here on our way through the area. Don't let the approach drive discourage you from staying. The campsites are well spaced out and level. The entire campground, including restrooms were very clean. We would stay here again, the forest is lovely.

The site for our camper was perfect-flat and fire ring and table clean upon arrival. The workers who I interacted with from front desk to maintenance were friendly and helpful. It was the most beautiful registration locale I have ever been too.We hope to stay there on our return north to explore more.

Loved everything about Blue Heron Campground, the Big South Fork River and Recreation Area, The Cumberland Plateau, the Civil War Museum, the Blue Heron Mine Museum, the bear, the Rangers, the drives through the countryside, Cumberland Falls, Yahoo Falls -- a terrific 10 days. Hope to return to the same campground and the same camp sites in years to come.

Blue Heron is a nice camp ground and is well maintained. We didn't see a camp host but everything was kept in very good condition.

Well shaded sites and a nice bathhouse

Nobody anywhere near us on a weekend in Nov. Hot showers in a heated clean bathhouse and we normally don't use electric but plugged in a space heater at our site when it dipped into the teens at night. Amazing site for $20. There's a great outdoor museum for the mine nearby too.

First, the setting in outstanding. The hookups and facilities are first rate. Mid-week it was nice and quiet. Pulling a trailer on the winding KY back roads was a bit of a challenge.

Never once saw a ranger in a week's time at the campground. The limit of one vehicle and a camper was not enforced. Also a campground map with site number would be nice as the is no one to greet when you arrive.

I don't think we've ever had a more pleasant campground experience. We were tent-camping and the setup was easy breezy. The shower/bathroom was very clean and I appreciated the kichen sink area to wash our dishes in. I also am really happy that they offered recyling next to the garbage receptacles. The staff that i interacted with couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Thanks for making us feel comfortable!

Great campground. Close to Blue Heron mining community and interpretive center. Also near the Big South Fork Scenic Railway.

Nicely spaced lots & well-kept facilities. Liked the "Bear-Proof" storage vault provided at each site...felt very secure. Park staff and host were very friendly. Easy access to local attractions (lots of rich local history re: coal and lumber industries) & easy-to-follow hiking trails. Loved finding the waterfalls and natural bridges. Would have been nice to have firewood available for sale on-site, but there was plenty to gather from the forest floor for our purpose. Would definitely return.

We had the best site and just loved our stay. Our water faucet was broken when we got there, but they came right out to fix it. Small campground and quiet for the most part. Very quiet at night.
