We booked 5 sites with our friends..So nice to have this ability in a state that is very hard to get reservations. As locals it was a nice treat.. The camp host was informative and pleasant to deal with. The shower was so surprisingly large and had hot water.. Very clean.. One of the best showers stall I have experienced in a campground. Though there is only one.. worth any wait. Great stay.. great photos at sunrise

Very nice and clean campground with great bathrooms/shower. Birdwatched through the area, plenty of accessible spots to entertain myself.

Had some issues with inappropriate conversation and behavior from 2 different staffers. Otherwise, great spot - beautiful and peaceful.

Very peaceful dry camping. Sites spaced out well. Roomier than Midway Campground. Would forego electric at Midway to stay here again.

Beautiful location on a lake! Sites are a little close together. Lots of generators running mornings and evenings.

Large sites with fire pits. Beautiful sunsets and great star gazing. Fished in the lake. Restroom with large shower. Pit toilets super clean. Loved bike riding the trail through Shark Valley, and driving the Loop. Great food and entertainment at HavAnnA Cafe in Chokoloskee. January was good time to be there, but still some bugs.

The campground is quite nice for dry camping. The entrance and loop and RV sites are smoothly paved with crushed shell. The bathhouse was being re-roofed, so I didn't evaluate that building. Be sure to watch for the alligator in the lake. My only complaint is that the camping loop is much too close to the US-41, which stays busy all night. Burns Lake campground, with it's mile-long driveway, is much quiter. I chose Monument Lake this time, however, because I needed mobile phone service to download articles and photos to edit and publish a club newsletter to a website. Verizon service is extremely weak or non-existent at Burns Lake.

The camp host, Walter was so nice! He shared areas to fish, places to see, nearest amenities, etc. The lake is beautiful and clean. Unparalleled star gazing too! It was the best night sky I have ever seen due to being so far away from light pollution. Not thrilled about 1 of the alligators eating someones pet. We felt the alligator should have been relocated due to his aggressive behavior. We will be back and may bring a telescope. Gorgeous sunsets too!!
