We stayed 2 nights at Monument Lake so that we could go to the Wild Hog BBQ. It was perfect for this, so close by. Good camp host, friendly other campers, sites not too crowded together, clean restrooms, and we loved watching the Purple martins!

Nice long level site. We didn’t unhitch our 20 ft trailer and there was lots of room left. Perfectly level. No vegetation to separate sites but they were pretty wide so you had quite a bit of space between you and your neighbor. No hookups and you have to use the dump site at another campground a few miles down the road, but you could get water at the bathhouse.

5 stars! Delores the host was wonderful, created us as we arrived and was very nice. Bathrooms were very clean, even the pit toilets. The park was nice and quiet and no bright street lights so we could see the starts at night. Also, we had the most beautiful sunset!

What a wonderful place to camp within Big Cypress NP! One suggestion would be to use something on the roads to create less dust even when driving slow! Thank you!Camp Hosts are super at this location

Great camp site for the money. Even though they don't have electric or water hook up the sites are large and the views are fabulous. The shower and restrooms were clean and great hot water. Will definitely stay again if I'm going that way. But you need to reserve early to get a site. I booked 2 weeks before I arrived and was able to get a site but had to move every day to a different site because I waited to late.

We LOVED it, do wish it wasn't required to have to reserve online, that you can pull in and pay at campground due to lack of cell service within the area. Wish we would have seen more alligators, as we were told there were a lot rhere.

It Was A Great Camp Site

We enjoyed our one-night stay at Monument Lake Campground. We arrived just before dark but were able to back our van with ease. Waking up to the beautiful view of Monument Lake at first light was just what we needed - ducks, herons, and alligators! And, we explored the nearby 27 mile Loop Road - full of nature, great for photography - just make sure to leave plenty of time to really take in all that it offers. Next time, we will ride our bicycles on this loop. This is truly the kind of Florida we seek.
