We had a blast watching the 3 to 5 gators in the lake. All back in sites. The campground is beautiful, take a walk in the morning mist! Lots of biking (gravel)/ORV trails right from the campground. The campground is 5 miles from the Oasis Visitor Center - a definite must see. The hosts were excellent.

Stayed for 3 days in site #30. Our coach has solar and a generator, so it wasn't difficult being that the campground has no electrical service at the sites. Water fill on the way in by the bath house. The bath house was very well attended and clean. We enjoyed taking a couple of drives on the Big Cypress Loop Rd. just down from the campground. Also close to Everglades City. Sites were well spaced and level.

Quiet and peaceful. Clean campsite and very nice hosts. Many sites are open for good solar. Convenient for exploring the Big Cypress Preserve.

Lovely campground with a beautiful lake with shorebirds and a few resident alligators. Especially enjoyed the Loop Road. Saw lots of the Everglades close up. Have some great pictures if you want some, tell me how to send them.

Its a very basic campground but picturesque and convenient is you need a spot in that area. They have quiet hours after 10p so if it is really hot it might be a problem since you cant run your generator at night to power your A/C
@RaleneLB625B05 · Camped on Jan 25, 2023 at Campsite #30
Generator hours (6am-10pm) are far too generous. No solitude. Wont be back.

Excellent sunsets and Everglades wilderness. Great and well-informed camp hosts. I saw two alligators sunning on lake banks this year. I'd recommend visiting the Miscoksukee Indian Village about 30 miles east of Monument Lake campground.
