Campground was perfect for our 3 night stay! Clean, tidy and well maintained. We were in a camper van and really appreciated the clean showers and baths. Host/Hostess were friendly and available. Enjoyed getting some steps in walking around the lake each morning.

Great campground to spend time in Big Cypress National Preserve. All sites surround the lake and have a lake view. Everyone was quiet and the campground was kept very neat and tidy. The park is well enough away from any city so star gazing is amazing.

Second time staying here; cant recommend it enough! Nice to see the gators in the lake and hear the birds at night. The showers and facilities in general are very good and the hosts are attentive/helpful. 10/10!

Very nice campground and a great location but not much separation between the sites. Not having a dump station is a minus and only one shower compounds the issue. The closest dump station is seven miles away.

Great campground to stay. Friendly hosts. Beautiful lake, with alligators! A little bit close to the road.

Lucky to get some last minute reservations. Loved this little park. Shady spaces with beautiful view of small lake. Watched the gator sunning each day. Do NOT walk your pet near the waters edge. Hosts were informative, polite and friendly. Trip into Everglades city for dinner was delightful. Highly recommend

We stayed two nights at Monument Lake and it was great. Entire campground was clean. Camp host was very helpful with recommendations. Alligators were fun to watch in the lake and the near by Canal and loop road:

We have camped here for many years and have always enjoyed the quiet solitude of this place. However this year when we arrived at our campsite we were met with a box trailer with a tent in the site next to ours. They had a contractor generator they were using to power their "construction site". Yes they were building a camper out of the box trailer. The generator was powering the saws, drills and it ran all day and evening until 10 pm. 2 days later someone moved into the site on the other side of us, they also had a contractor generator which they placed on the back side of their trailer (so they didn't have to hear it) and started it before they even unhooked the trailer from their truck. Again it ran all day and evening. The use of generators running all day totally ruined our trip.

Quiet time is supposed to be 10 to 6, but people run their generator anytime??? I know last year Burns lake had strict quiet time, this park does not.shark valley is a great bike trail not far from the park.Joanies crab restaurant is very good.

The rules of this location say that generators can be used from 6 am to 10 pm. On Sunday December 27, 2020 around 2 pm, a camp host came to my camping site to ask me to turn off my generator. I told him that the camp rules allow me to have a generator on at that time of the day. He said that other people were complaining about the generator and that I had to turn it off. I did turn it off because I did not want to argue with him. I think that people that visit this location should respect the rules, or NPS should prohibit the use of generators. But as long as the generators are allowed, not paying visitor should be asked to stop using it.
