The campground was lovely, neat and clean. The campground host was friendly, welcoming, and gave us lots of important information. The tent sites are grassy and reasonably flat.

We had a great time tent camping here. The campground is near a cellular tower which was convenient. It is halfway between Everglades City and Shark Valley visitor center, convenient to too much nature, fishing, wildlife. The camp host was very nice and informative and a rager came and gave a night sky presentation that was quite informative. I highly recommend this spot.

Clean and well maintained park was a pleasure to camp! Very quiet and great amenities. 10/10 will visit again! Just be careful following the GPS/phone directions to the campground and follow the street signs. If not, you'll wind up about 1/4 mile East in the Indian Village.

The campground was perfect! The restrooms and showers were clean. Everyone was quiet in the evenings and there wasn't a lot of light pollution from other campers so we were able to view the sky! There was a resident gator was out monitoring his domain and rightfully sun soaking. We saw turkeys and lots of other birds. Mosquitos everywhere so bring your bug spray and wood for fires at night. Golden hour is beautiful on the lake. Big Cypress I will be back! Location was about 25 mins to the Everglades City and Everglades NP & 1.5 hours from Miami.

The Monument Lake camping for tent camping was good. They now have showers at the bath house. Still have alligators in the lake, who mind their own business, and don't bother anyone. It was a great base camp for exploring Cypress Swamp National Preserve, Thousand Islands area of Everglades National Park, Everglade City, Corkscrew Swamp, and (for a rainy day outing) St Meyers - Edison and Ford's winter quarters . Our campsite was already marked as reserved, with our name all filled out.

Campground hosts were great, as were the long term campers. Feels safe (I camp alone.) Bathroom and shower clean and they have hot water. Walking the loop around the lake at sunset is beautiful. I stayed 4 nights and saw a couple of gators but never out on the campgrounds. People scare me more than gators so if these animals bother you, this campground may not be your place.Only downside was that it's so close to the Tamiami trail and the road noise was too much for me at night. Escaping traffic noise is the reason I drive 4 hours down there from Orlando. I won't go back only because of the proximity to the highway.

I'm a frequent visitor to this particular campground. Having camped along the Cypress Preserve and the Everglades, I keep coming here for a number of reasons. First is the ease of access, it is on US41 with direct access from Miami and Naples/Marco Island area, also has a connect to I-75 thru US41 at the junction leading to Everglades City. Second, the grounds are well-kept, the restrooms are clean and well lit, and there is potable water available on site from a well dug into the Biscayne Aquifer, and third, there are excellent communications due to a cell phone tower right off the campgrounds, so one never loses contact with the outside world. This may seem not important to some, and important to others, myself included.

Nice campground, level sites, picnic tables and fire rings. Bath house clean with nice shower. I liked the outside sink to do dishes. The days I was there were calm and warm, nice sunsets and sunrises. The nights were dark enough to view the stars.

Great campground! Stars are amazing! Bathrooms are really clean! Nice hosts! Some of the RV campers were pretty loud during quiet hours, but thats the risk you run with camping in general.

Campground was a great location to explore Big Cypress National Preserve and Everglades National Park. Tent campsites are close to neighbors, but I really appreciated the friendly camp host, potable water, and an unexpected shower and dish washing sink! Great stay, would stay again.

Great tent only section. Small campground around a small pond. Quiet and everyone follows the rules. Has showers but not very hot.

We really enjoyed tent camping at Monument Lake. The campground hosts were very congenial, the bathrooms were clean and it was a great place to enjoy a camp fire under the night sky.

It was great. The bugs are out and nasty, the air was cold and damp, and I have never seen so many stars in Florida! The campground was clean and neat. All the neighbors were awesome. All in all a wonderful experience.

Fantastic campground. It's definitely kid friendly and there's plenty of space to walk and have an adventure. The hunting access from the back of the campground is fantastic too. You have to go 1600 feet before you can begin the hunt or dress any game, but it makes sense and keeps everyone safe in the campground. I've stayed here plenty of times and it's fantastic every time.
