We had a great time tent camping here. The campground is near a cellular tower which was convenient. It is halfway between Everglades City and Shark Valley visitor center, convenient to too much nature, fishing, wildlife. The camp host was very nice and informative and a rager came and gave a night sky presentation that was quite informative. I highly recommend this spot.

Clean and well maintained park was a pleasure to camp! Very quiet and great amenities. 10/10 will visit again! Just be careful following the GPS/phone directions to the campground and follow the street signs. If not, you'll wind up about 1/4 mile East in the Indian Village.

The campground was perfect! The restrooms and showers were clean. Everyone was quiet in the evenings and there wasn't a lot of light pollution from other campers so we were able to view the sky! There was a resident gator was out monitoring his domain and rightfully sun soaking. We saw turkeys and lots of other birds. Mosquitos everywhere so bring your bug spray and wood for fires at night. Golden hour is beautiful on the lake. Big Cypress I will be back! Location was about 25 mins to the Everglades City and Everglades NP & 1.5 hours from Miami.

Nice spot to get away. Lots of wilderness to explore from the campground. Friendly hosts.

The Monument Lake camping for tent camping was good. They now have showers at the bath house. Still have alligators in the lake, who mind their own business, and don't bother anyone. It was a great base camp for exploring Cypress Swamp National Preserve, Thousand Islands area of Everglades National Park, Everglade City, Corkscrew Swamp, and (for a rainy day outing) St Meyers - Edison and Ford's winter quarters . Our campsite was already marked as reserved, with our name all filled out.
