Only real issue is people coming off the highway to drive the loop around the lake sometimes driving too fast and kicking up dust. Quiet hours after 10PM - numerous campers are running their generators all night long and some around the clock.

The place is beautiful! Had a great spot in #14. The ranger and the Host were very helpful and friendly. It turns out I wasn't very prepared for the onslaught of mosquitoes. Millions. We ended up packing up 3 hours after setting up.

The campground hosts were great, the only problem i had was trailer next to me used his generator for hours on end, there should be a limit and it is now from 6 am to 10 pm to be able to use generator where it used to be 8 am to 8 pm, I dont understand the change, it really takes away from camping experience especially in parks and forest, people just sit in there trailers and motor homes, and have no interest in outdoors, let them go to rv park and keep forests and preserves quieter

Beautiful location. Clean and well-kept. Ranger Cheryl came by to greet everyone. Saw the neighborhood gator a couple times, but only in the water. Excellent cell service the entire stay (Verizon). This was our second time. Looking forward to our next visit.

The campground is very scenic, quiet, well kept up, and nicely spaced between the campsites. The camp hosts were wonderful. The hot showers are a very nice new amenity.

This is one of my favorite campgrounds. Friendly and helpful hosts, a lake with fish and a couple of gators, sites are well-kept, clean bathrooms, potable well water on site, and best of all at least for me, a cell tower next door that provides 100% signal to all cell companies. Close to Marco Island beaches, Naples, Everglades City for day activities, hiking, biking, and exploring.

Every single tent site had 2-3 tents. It was ridiculous how many people were there. Never going again. Weve been camping here for over a decade but this irresponsible overbooking is unacceptable and has totally ruined our experience.

I have been coming to the Everglades for over 25 years and have been going to Monument Lake for more than 10 of those. This year was the most relaxing trip I have ever had. No rain but a bit windy on the last day. Will keep going as long as I am able to.

Loved the location of this campground as it made it easy to get to places to hike and tour within the day. I remember reading that it could be windy, and it was. The breeze was good though to keep away mosquitoes. We tent camped in December, but there were still mosquitoes. The sites do not have shade other than the three grouped to the far left of the tent loop and then the sites at the top of the lake. We were lucky enough to select the site with two trees so were able to use our hammocks. No showers here, so pack your wet wipes if that is important. The flush toilets and washing sink outside of the bathroom building were kept clean. There are alligators in the lake and some big ones. Our kids loved that, but you have to be mindful if you get a site right on the lake. I wish they had some accessible trails to use by bike but the water was high and the one off road that the park service uses was under water. A lot of birds and great views of sunrises and sunsets.

The campground hosts were very friendly and helpful. Shark Valley and the Loop Road Scenic Drive are a must.

This is a good site for bicycle campers like me, but the main restroom was closed for no apparent reason. If you are going to close parts of a facility put that information on the website.
