Nice place, friendly host . Only thing there are no clear cut spots to put your tent and it becomes a bit weird if its booked full to decide who sets up where. clean bathrooms . not a lot of shade on this side for the tent campers . best side for shade is the north side but that's for rv and campers only

Arrived following a poring rain on bicycles and the host and hostess could not have been more accomodating to us. From making sure our sites were as high (and dry) as possible to using the bathroom facilities to get dried out they were super helpful. We just wish that the rain had let up for us to see the star show it is famous for.

Nice campsite with standard fire pits (hard to cook because the grates cant be lowered), decent spacing, and relatively secluded. Surprisingly has full cell coverage with AT&T (this could be a pro or con depending on self control).

This is a good campground from which to visit the northern Everglades and the Big Cypress, i.e. Turner River, Everglades City, and many hiking trails. Restrooms have running water and hot showers!Although the campsites are rather close together, they have good views to the Big Cypress landscape.

Quiet campground in the heart of Big Cypress. Nice lake, clean restroom, shower is a little cold but it works. No hookups, but pottable water is available. Most campsites have a tree or two for some shade. Perfect for base camp while exploring the area.

Beautiful setting, great at sunrise and sunset. Tent sites are pretty close together but other than that it's great.

I stayed in a tent. A simple campground setup, a nice lake to view, with a resident alligator. Bathrooms and shower were really nice. Easy access to main road. Would definitely stay again.

The park host was welcoming and helpful with great tips for where to get things locally. Showers are warm, and early in the morning you can spot some alligators in the lake! :)

Campground is great. The camp host was very friendly and offered a lot of information and advice. When I arrived the campers in the spot next to mine had overtaken my entire area as well. I drive over to the camp host and, he spoke with the campers and resolved the issue in a super diplomatic manner. All was well after. I really liked how quiet the campgrounds became after 8PM. Learning they had just installed hot showers in the bathroom building was a pleasant surprise as well! Can't wait to return!

I was really impressed with this campground, it was my first time there. The location is great, easy access to scenic drives and all the fantastic parks along 41 in Big Cypress and Everglades. It is a longish drive into civilization so make sure you have necessary supplies with you, it's not quick to just run out and get things, but I knew that going in. The lake in the middle of the campground is scenic and offers great wildlife viewing without even leaving the campground (gators!). Bathroom was clean and the shower stall is huge! Campground hosts were very friendly and made check-in easy. Sites are well marked, not a lot of privacy, but almost all sites back up to wilderness so you don't feel surrounded by people. AND it seemed like a nice community, and I even made friends with our neighbors. Will definitely stay here again next time I'm due for a south Florida camping trip!

We spent one night at Monument Lake. It was quiet and the area was clean. The fire pit had a grill for cooking. We saw one good sized alligator in the lake.

Very beautiful and quiet. The lake is so calm, it's like a mirror so that you can see the upside down view. We saw a beautiful sunset and a lot of star at night. We love it so much so we already booked for next one!
