Barking dogs were a problem. I would like to see a camping section for campers without pets. The sites are close and a barking dog right beside you is a nuisance.

Small, quiet campground is near several interesting places in Big Cypress National Preserve. Very clean, and the maintenance person, Troy, was very helpful. No showers, but if you're staying there, you can use the showers at Monument Lake about 4 miles away. We had no cell service, but had a strong signal at Monument Lake. This is the only campground in Big Cypress with electrical service. The Oasis Visitor Center is a couple of miles away. The rangers have lots of good information and the boardwalk is a great way to view alligators. While there, take the 24 mile Loop Road scenic drive to see mire alligators and a variety of wading birds.

Good spot. Poor cell. Be careful exiting from the east side if someone is using the dump station. Low branches to get around. Better to exit the loop in the other direction

Stayed 5 nights in space 26 . This campground is centrally located in big cypress preserve and the Everglades. The campground is clean, well maintained and has a dump station and water with easy access. Picnic table and fire ring at every site. A bit of noise from hwy 41 but not horrible. I highly recommend an airboat ride and walking the boardwalks at the visitor centers.

A great place to stay. The camp host was very friendly and helpful with a lot good sound advice.
I recommend you book in advance though especially if you don’t have a good phone reception.
Bye from the Aussies Fly fishers traveling through Florida.

This is a lovely campground with all spots facing the water. It’s clean, quiet and very well maintained. Remember there is no water hookup at the sites. There is water available to fill up your tank before you set up at your site. There is a dump station. No cable or internet and no cell service at all. If you want all the amenities, go elsewhere. We loved being disconnected for a bit!

It was great to find this campground. It was exactly halfway between destinations. Our site was clean and paved. It had a nice fire pit. The camp host was friendly. The entire campground was well maintained. The steps just had electricity but that’s all we really needed. Definitely will stay here again. We camped in a 40 ft MotorHome.

A nice quiet place at a great price. I had a great view of the lake and it was nice and shaded. The only thing I wish was there was a shower.

This was our favorite campground for our trip to the Everglades. Friendly people. Nice loop around the pond to ride bikes.

We stayed two nights on the way to and back from Key West. It was very quiet and clean. There are several information sites nearby, we stopped at one and learned about the Great Cypress Preserve. I got my national park passport stamped. Not much TV or cell reception.

We have a 40' motorhome. The sites were easy to get into - plenty of room to back in. Great view of the lake and friendly people. Go explore the everglades! Beautiful part of Florida.

Midway Campground - Ochopee, FL: We were here a few years ago and had to come back. This is a great campground in Big Cypress Wilderness Reserve at mile marker 52 on route 41 Tamiami trail. No water or sewer hookups, but there is electric at the site, fire pit, picnic table and good sized spaced out sites. Dump station and potable water available. Camp hosts was very friendly and checked on campers regularly. The 26 mile loop road is very close and a great way to experience Florida & Big Cypress backcountry and wildlife from your car or bike. Plenty of hiking trails in the area as well.
