Midway is peaceful, clean, and relaxing. Having to drive 7 miles to get a shower isn't ideal, but we combined it with a drive on the loop road and it was fantastic!

The campground is set up quite nicely with a decent amount of space between campers. The hosts are friendly and do a wonderful job of keeping the campground very clean, including the bathrooms. A downfall is no showers available, and since the water source is right at the bathhouse and the dump station, they need to expand the bath house and put in showers. 50 amp service is great ! close by is the big Cypress visitor center which is interesting. Lots of alligator life to observe and certainly, take the drive on whats called the loop Road to see nature at its finest. We would definitely return.

Flat, level, paved sites around a small lake. Site #17 has quite a bit of shade, with trees on both side. No separation from your neighbor. Electric only.

We stopped overnight going from the Gulf coast to the Keys and loved it. Quiet, beautiful park.

This was my second visit to the midway campground. The first visit was wonderful so I wanted to return while my son was visiting. No problems getting a site like before so I was a little surprised. When I arrived at the campground, the place was deserted! There was no camp host - and maybe just a couple of RVs inside. I realize this is summer and camping in Florida in the middle of summer is not everyone's cup of tea. Then why charge reservation fees when you do not provide any amenities? The grass was uncut - the whole place was filled with weeds and most of the sites were unusable because of the bugs and overgrown vegetation. There was waterlogging at most of the sites which made the Even then we were okay since we could pick another site (our reserved site was unusable - there was a huge hornet nest right on the picnic bench!) - but the bathrooms were closed and locked, no water and just a handwritten sign saying "Use bathrooms at Oasis visitor center" - which is a 2.5 mile drive. So every time we needed to use the bathroom we had to leave our gear, tent and bikes at the site unprotected and drive 2.5 miles to use the restroom.If no amenities will be provided, shouldn't that be specified at the campsite and in the reservation page so we could be appropriately prepared? Sadly, this hurt our view of this campground after this trip.I recommend not camping here during the summer months (not sure when that starts though in Floda since it is pretty much warm all the time :)But if you are going to camp, and not use an RV, check to make sure the place will have the amenities.

There is no cell phone signal at the campground so it is not a first come campground as described on this website. We arrived to a nearly empty campground at 8pm and the host made us drive 3 miles away to a place where you could get a signal and book a site online. The online reservations system closes either at 8 or sometime before so when we tried to book we couldnt. We ended up just booking for the next night instead. When we drove back in the host didnt check. Terrible systemand the bugs this time of year are even worse. Its a great overnight stop to break up the long drive to the Keys, well kept, mowed and clean otherwise.

Great campground. Clean. Wide sites. Lake in the middle of the loop. We really enjoyed our time there. No water or sewer connections, but we knew that and were prepared. We will definitely stay here again.

This is a great campsite with electric hookups at each site. Restrooms were nice at the start of the weekend but got pretty dirty my the end. Water and dump on site as leaving the campsite. Poor cell coverage. Alex, the campsite manager was great with lots of helpful tips.

Sweet campground. A wonderful place to lay back, read, walk, bike, relax, have a campfire. Clean. Great volunteers. Must be willing to adjust to electric-only hookup. We love Midway.

Rangers were nice and helpful. Site was nice and well kept. The campground is not near any stores or resturaunts, and does not have showers. Worst of all, the misquitos and other flying insects were terrible
@ChristineS406 · Camped on Dec 27, 2020 at Campsite #17
Very well-maintained and pleasant atmosphere at this campground! We loved our short stay here. Mosquitoes are bad after dusk, so be prepared, and there is no water at the site. We were hoping to stay here again on our return trip, but it was full. Would definitely stay again!
