The Big Cypress area is known for its dark skies, but unfortunately this campground has electric sites so a number of the RVers think their site should be lit up like Times Square. If you're seeking a relatively dark location to observe the heavens, then this campground is not the place for you.The campground also has a number of tent sites, but there is not a utility sink for washing dishes. I presume tent campers are expected to dump their dish washing water on the ground as there was a bathroom-posting stating dishes were not to be washed there.

Our personal experience was great. There were many other campers having campfires during burn ban. It should be addressed with no question for misunderstanding - that NO CAMPFIRES are allowed during burn ban. Also - we saw lots of grills and coolers being left out when occupants were away from their campsite for hours during the day. Maybe a checklist sheet that is given to every camping site guest upon check-in could be provided. Hard to enforce something when youre not clearly informed. It would also be helpful for safety reasons - if a One Way sign and speed limit signs were posted. People come off the highway to drive the loop around the pond and use the bathroom/dump trash at the dumpster - but they drive too fast around the loop. As I said originally - our stay was great and the host and workers there are awesome, friendly and frequently helpful and busy - they could benefit from having these helpful tools if provided by higher staff - to make their jobs a little easier.THERE IS NO CELL SERVICE COVERAGE AT ALL AT THIS CAMPGROUND.

During our stay there was a burn ban in place - however on several evenings we saw other campers that were violating the burn ban and having fires regardless. None were told to extinguish their fires. We also saw quite a few grills being kept out at campsites 24/7 even when the occupants were away from their sites. We were specifically told to keep the grill put away when not in use.

Happy to have electric. Camp hosts were friendly. During a burn ban, we saw campfires after dark, but, camp hosts stop working at 6, and do not see it. Only 1 small sign about burn ban. Lots of coolers and grills left out, when there's notices posted about being bear safe. Make sure you go through Loop Road, we saw 100 alligators! The new boardwalk at Big Cypress is a great walk. Kirby Sorter boardwalk has not been rebuilt. For a great cuban, go to HavAnna Cafe.

As others have mentioned, this an EXCELLENT spot for a quick one night stop. However, it is a good stop to take a couple days to explore "Alligator Alley."

Nice quiet location until we had zero camp hosts then things get a little crazy with some of our neighbors.

We found our site easily but the check in process wasnt clear. We also didnt realize the campsites have no water hook up so we had to fill our holding tank a couple of times while there. Also the bathrooms were nicely cleaned but there are no showers there. The hosts were friendly and helpful and we had really nice fellow campers.

A friendly, quiet campground. Great place to wind down. Host, Jim, was chatty and helpful. Note: mobile phone service (Verizon) was poor throughout campground.

This has been the most friendly campground that I have ever visited. Shout out to Lola and Penny , hosts who made my stay so much more interesting and fun. The friendly and interesting folks made the shower absence unnoticeable.

Beautiful setting, paved sites and road were a huge plus as were the electric sites. Very quiet and peaceful. However, the grass needed mowing on all sites and bathrooms needed cleaning badly, as well as being restocked with toilet paper.

The small campground is tidy, the grass is cut, there are paved sides pads, picnic tables and clean restrooms. It is a great spot from which to explore the everglades. There is no running water and that would be a great addition to the park.

Clean, well maintained campground right on the Tamiami Trail. All sites are pretty much the same, a few palm trees by the road and dense vegetation behind the site. Paved, level pads, could fit any rig.
No Verizon cell service, but you can drive a couple miles to Monument Lake campground and get decent service. Great place to stay to bike the Snake Bight Loop.

The camp hosts welcomed us with smiles and were attentive to any requests. We LOVE the campground itself - clean, neat, and natural. The nature loop a few miles away is a great scenic drive - lots of birds and other wildlife. The air boats are a great afternoon of fun in the wild. The only area of improvement would be a way to have cell service and a bit wider interior road - quite difficult to back into the sites - must drive thru grass and difficult to keep from running into the palm fronds. Thanks for being there! We will come again soon.

This campground has some of the best stargazing in Florida. Its in Big Cypress Preserve, which is fascinating and amazing in itself, but its close to Everglades National Park too.

This is a lovely tidy little campground deep in the Everglades. Bathrooms are clean, sites are level and easy to access and, though small, it has a decent amount of space between sites. Probably about 1/3 of the sites have some shade (over in the south eastern corner). Easy water and electrical hook-ups, though our electrical was not working so we plugged into the site next door. Overall, nice campground with no sand dirt or mud. Not a ton of things to do, but a perfect place to post up for a night.
