Midway Campground is a very pleasant and quiet place. It's easy to find right off US 41 to the south and is close to the Oasis Visitors Center. Good bathrooms with water fill nearby. Most of the sites are electric. Good shade to the east of the lake while the west side is mostly sunny. The campground host is friendly and walks around the lake with the other campers.

We really enjoyed the campground itself for the 10 days we stayed. It was a good place to relax a bit and unwind in the warmth. The only thing that made the trip unenjoyable was one of the campground hosts, Lola. We felt like we were not welcome when she was on duty, she also made us feel like it was a 55 and older campground (we have kids and kids are not the most tidy). Having done my fair share of camping throughout my life in various states across the US, I have never come across a campground host that was on a power trip like she was.

No AT&T, no water or dumping at sites. Nice campgrounds. Watch out for speed trips

We stayed in site #12 in a 39ft class A motorhome. Site is level. We were able to back up to have the camper wheels at the end of the blacktop pad. That gave enough room in the front to park our truck. 50 amp service. ATT and T-mobile cell service is very poor. There is cell tower at the Monument campground, 7.8 miles from Midway. We drove up the highway until we had enough cell service for internet. Occasionally, standing in the front of the motorhome, we could get one bar. Filled with fresh water and emptied our tanks before we setup at our site.We did the ranger guided bike ride and canoe trip. You need reservations for these by calling the Nathaniel P Reed visitor center. Highly recommend these two. Also recommend the Ten Thousand Island pontoon boat tour, from the Everglades National Park Adventures concessioner. Good tour, captain was very informative. Air boat ride from Captain Jacks in Everglade City was cool. Going through the mangroves was great. The swamp buggy tour part was lame. A little bit of water then just a dirt road, but it was the dry season. Definitely do the 15 mile bike ride at Shark Valley. Parking lot is small and crowded early. They only let one car in as one leaves. A lot of people park out on 41, then walk or ride your bike into the park. Saw LOTS of gators, fish and birds. No cars allowed on the 15 mile loop. Just the tram, walkers and other bikers. Stayed at Midway 7 nights and would definitely go back!!!

Nice sized camping spots. With or without trees so it is easy to find a spot where you can set up starlink. Starlink is desireable since there is limited cellular service. Biggest short coming of this campground is no shower available onsite.

The nearby highway didn't seem to be a bother. The host was very professional and helpful. Good location for visiting site in Big Cypress Swamp.

Site was good for a night to sleep, it was quiet which made the lack of privacy okay, wouldn’t want to stay there when full and busy, enless you have a latge bus with private indoor space to hangout, otherwise youre right beside everyone at their campfire pit area.

Showers were closed at monument campground which we were hoping to use, so showers would be a nice touch.

Bathrooms were always kept clean and well stocked with toiletries.

Oh and there was a couple gators in the pond, be careful we thought we saw one behind the trailer in the middle of the night, I guess they have nests in the forests and the sites are between the pond entrances they travel and their nesting area. Bring a flashlight

Overall it was a great experience though! True everglades camping bugs and all!!

Would return!

Clean & perfect for a one night stay. RT 41 is a major thoroughfare for large trucks traveling across the state overnight. Not good if you’re a light sleeper

We thoroughly enjoyed our five day stay at Midway. The campground is well maintained and beautiful. The road leading to the campground was smooth and void of any low tree branches or other obstacles. The camp host's were very knowledgeable about the area and attractions. The sites are spacious, level and well maintained. Our site #12 was on the West side of the park and did not have much shade. The East side across the pond was more shaded with an abundance of trees. We did have a bit of trouble trying to fit our F-350 long bed on the drive way but were able to angle it to make it fit. There is no swimming in the pond as there are alligators swimming in there. There is no playground or activities for kids. Our AT&T cell service was spotty depending on where we were on our site. We were unable to pull in any aerial TV stations with our antenna. The only thing lacking in this campground is water and sewer at the site. We were able to fill our tank at the dump station with water provided by the campground. Our tank is large enough to last us for quite a while so this really wasn't a problem. They do have bathroom facilities with flush toilets but no showers. I would highly recommend this campground and if we are back in the area we will definitely stay here again.

Entire campground was in excellent condition, sites were easy to negotiate and it was always pleasantly quiet. Although there were no activities in the campground area itself, the location is excellent for reasonable driving to every kind of Everglade type adventure imaginable.

Midway is a good name, it's in the middle of nowhere, or in the middle of Big Cypress Preserve. If you like being away from the crowds, you'll love Midway.Alligators, Alligators, Alligators. This is the Everglades animals domain.Birds, panthers, shunk apes, and did I mention Alligators? Minutes away from Everglades National Park, enjoyed the tram ride into the Everglades.Air boats ,swamp buggies, nature trails.Waterfront seafood @ Everglades City 30mi from campground. All civilization is 30 to 50 mi from Midway.Midway is a smaller quite campground, with a big night sky. Not really big rig friendly, but manageable. Enjoyed our 9 day stay and would have stayed longer but camp was booked solid.

We we're there for four nights, three at site 12 and one at site 10. We wished we could have had a fire ring. Some of the sites did. Midway is a good base to go to Big Cypress National Preserve and the Everglades. Bugs were not present until dusk.
