Midway campground is a hidden gem midway between Miami and Naples! Especially with electrical hook ups!! It is a quiet little oasis along 41 with a picturesque small lake and wonderful campground hosts in season. We make it a point to break up our trip to and from the Florida Keys here every year. We were lucky enough to be there recently on an evening where there was a Ranger talk!!

Midway Campground was a fantastic place to disconnect from the hustle and to focus on family time. The seclusion along the Tamiami trail allowed for ample wildlife viewing and amazing star gazing. The Campground was a short drive from several visitor centers/hiking trails, as well as a local art gallery. A short drive further will have you at the Miccosukee Indian Reservation's cultural center/airboat rides, or at Everglades City in the other direction. The campground has very limited cell service- but that is what we were looking for! Well kept grounds with large fire ring and clean picnic table at site. Several picnic structures around the man-made lake in the center of the grounds. There is an easy to access dump-station and potable water fill up at the front of the campground to either prepare for your stay- or to clean up afterwards. The loop is easy to navigate for rigs of any size, and the set-up allows for tent campers to be offset from trailers/RVS (making for a much safer camping space for the tent sites. The campground hosts were extremely friendly and were regularly seen taking an active role in the camp grounds maintenance. This included scrubbing down the picnic tables, keeping the grass mowed, and keeping engaged with the campers. We have been to many camp grounds both public and private- but this one is one of the very few that have completely exceeded expectations. It is a no frills place to unwind and reconnect with both family and nature. We will most definitely return!!!

Clean, and well kept. Friendly staff. The only problem we had was the loss of power for the entire day.

wonderful peaceful place,Just a shame that there is no internet or wifi connection at the campground, so if you have not booked prior to arrival, you will have to travel back to a place where you can go on the internet to book your stay.

We could not camp at our spot even though we had a reservation due to another camper parked in our spot who did not have a reservation. Campground needs managing.

The site was great. The issue is that there are no cell towers nearby so phone service is spotty at best. Wifi connectivity was also poor. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay.

We really liked this campground! We’ve been to over a hundred this year and thought this was a good one. Campground hosts, Mr and Mrs Brooks, were very welcoming and had great information on what to see and do. (There’s so much!)

Always enjoy camping here. Very restful. We did the Shark Valley tram, an air boat ride as well as a catamaran in Everglades City. Also enjoyed eating in Everglades City.

Midway is awesome! Excellent upkeep on the grounds, good facilities. Great place to base yourself for activities like hiking, biking, fishing, star gazing, and visiting the various roadside attractions along the Tamiami Trail. Depending on when you go, you could have the whole campground to yourself! (I did in early Oct!) One downside is that there is very, VERY sparse cell service in the campground and at least 30 miles in either direction. So, communication-wise, you are "off the grid" here. The other downside is that the "potable" water on site has a green tinge to it, so at the very least, run it through a filter first. I suggest filling your freshwater tank before arriving as I did or bringing bottled water.
