This campsite is clean and well maintained. The spots are a little tight for larger rigs however, there were Prevost and other large units in the campsites. I would highly recommend Midway.

We usually stop at Midway once a year on our way south. Well kept campground. Paved interior roads. 50 amp power at site. No water or sewer, but there is a dump station. Clyde Butcher's Gallery is close by as is the Oasis visitor center. Loop Road is worth a drive . Bugs are tolerable during winter months. In warmer months, they will carry you away !

Peaceful place along the TAMIAMI TRAIL. Longer rigs will struggle to stay off the grass while backing into a spot.Grass wasn't mowed. I'd certainly stay here again.

Nice spot to camp and spend a few days at Big Cypress and Everglades. Low key the weekend we were there.

The only thing this campground needs is water at the campsites..

Nice stop in the Everglades with plenty of space at sites. Bugs get very bad at night so be prepared.

Small, quiet, on pond. Clean. Nice hosts. Electric. No water on sites. Clean bathrooms. No showers. Dump and potable water. We love Midway.

Very clean campground with large sites. Perfect size for our motor home towing.
Quiet. Very calming and peaceful.
Camp host polite and informative.
There is occasionally cell service on our att phones but fades in and out.

We stayed only one night as we were traveling to our main destination, but this was a beautiful and well maintained campsite. We stayed at site #13, which was the last site before the road makes a turn around the pond. This gave us plenty of room for the kids to play while being able to keep them in sight. The biggest draw for us was the night sky though. Being a good ways out from town, you could see an abudance of stars.

Hookups only include electric, but there is a dump station near the exit of the campground, as well as a bathroom. There is a dumpster on site near the entrance, and there was a campsite administrator staying in a camper in the first site. He was very friendly and helpful with check-in. Sites were paved and ours required no leveling from side to side. Our 30' bumper pull had plenty of room on the pad, and we had enough room to pull our truck in at an angle to not be in the roadway.

Overall a great stay, even just for a night. The next time we come through this area, we'll be sure to stop for a longer period.

The price is awesome at only $30. No water hook-ups, but electric was all we really needed. GREAT place to stop if you're rolling in late and just need to spend a night or two in the area while you're visiting the National Everglades Park (which is super close... and the Eco Tram Ride is really awesome). No showers, but if you have the water in your RV to shower, that's not a big issue (again, only $30). I'd give it 5 stars, but I never went into the bathrooms (so I don't know what they were like). Didn't use the dump station (was there one?), but appreciated the dumpster for a getting rid of some trash. BEST aspect of the park really is the STARGAZING. If it's a clear sky, you'll be blown away by the stars. Yes, mosquitos... but that's just Florida. There was a firepit and picnic table at our site. We would use the campground again for sure.

Great site immersed in the park with no cel signal. Loved being able to unplug and just enjoy time with the family. Very clean and easy to find.

Perfect for an overnight stay on the way to the Keys! Yes, I was "concerned" about the possibility of an alligator showing up at our campsite...but, hey we are camping in the Everglades..so it is what it is! Definitely will stay here again! Make sure you have mosquito spray (with at least 90% deet) if you plan on being being outside during your stay. We absolutely love this place for our short term needs!

We were in Site 13 - it was electric only (as are all sites); it was clean and easy to back into. There were only 3-4 other campers while we were there, so it was quiet. There were very few bugs. The potable water was brownish when we tried it, but we did not let it run to see if it cleared up, since we didn't need to fill our water tank. It is very close to Shark Valley - take the tram tour - it was well worth it!

Great spot, right in the middle of the everglades and big cypress. It was clean and quiet.

Great campground but expensive for not having shower facilities.

If you love star gazing, you'll love this campground. One of the reasons I booked this campground was to utilize my telescope and we were not disappointed. Midway campground is nice and far from anything else so you can really star gaze and enjoy a quiet weekend away. The campground itself is beautiful. The lake is gorgeous and a great place to spot alligators. If you're looking to get away, check out Midway. You won't be disappointed. Side note, if you want a camp fire, be sure to bring firewood with you. There aren't a lot of places to buy wood nearby.

Nice hiking trails, single loop vegetation provides privacy
@PaulL976 · Camped on Mar 18, 2021 at Campsite #13
Campground was surprisingly quiet (given how close it is to a main road). Sites are relatively level and all overlook the lake, which was nice. Hosts were friendly and helpful.

This was a great campground. Quiet, peaceful, safe, clean. We camped here in a fifth wheel. There’s only electric hookup but we filled up with water before parking. And we dumped when we left. Our site was perfect. No one on one side of it. We stayed 4 nights which was perfect. While there we went to shark valley & did the 15 mile bike path. The visitor center down the road is close by (west) & loaded with alligators. There were some right across the highway too. Will definitely return here.
