Great stay and great campground. We went during the winter so it was pleasant temperatures and less bugs. Would suggest camping in the cooler seasons in Florida for those reasons. Bathrooms were clean and they also had trash dumpsters, dumping and water. Easy to access site right off the road, camp spots are in a cleared area surrounded by trees and circle a nice little lake. Very nice area. We could see many stars at night. There were campfire grills and picnic tables as well. RV spots had electric hookups, but we didnt stay at one of those. There are majority RV/electric hookup spots with some non hookup spots which is where we stayed. Close to a main road so its easy to get to many trails and sight seeing spots. Overall enjoyed staying here, it felt safe and well taken care of.

So many mosquitoes we needed a transfusion afterwards. Our fault for thinking we could come to Everglades in summer. But BE WARNED! Unless you like clouds of hundreds of tiny vampires come in the winter!

After April most campgrounds in Everglades are closed because of hot and humid weather and mosquitoes. Only Midway campground is open. The facility is clean but only has restroom but does not have bathroom. Mosquitoes is not as bad as those campgrounds in Everglades NP. The landscape is beautiful and campsites surround a lake that several alligators inhabit even though they do not get out of the lake due to hot weather. I still feel a little worry at night when i need to get to use the restroom.

We tent camped and the site we had was very open and had plenty of room for our equipment. The only issue we had was a group of young girls who made so much noise (music, cursing, screaming) until well after 2 am.

The caretaker was SO friendly, the place was nice- quiet and clean. There were no showers, but we made do. It was HOT, but we had a nice and shady spot. We would definitely come back!

It was a peaceful, well-maintained campground. The managers were friendly and helpful.
