We recently stayed at Rio Grande Village Campground in Big Bend National Park and overall had a great experience. For such a remote park, the amenities were impressive. The bathrooms were convenient, and the utility sink for washing dishes was a fantastic touchsomething more campgrounds should offer. The camp store was awesome as well. Our specific campsite could have used a little maintenance, but overall we enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.

I had more fun this time visiting the Rio Grande Village campground, as the last time was a few years ago in July. It was still mid to high 90's in the middle of the night. It was nice and cool this time in November. Love visiting Big Bend!

great flat campsites, plenty of space to set-up tents and relax. Showers and store are pretty close and accessible if needed.

I love big bend. The campground is good in terms of space out some while still a campground with facilities. Everyone is friendly and welcoming.

Beautiful scenery, dark sky campground, has been years since I saw the Milky Way so clearly!

This was a last minute addition to our 2 month tour. We are so glad we did. We discovered that many Texans haven’t yet visited. Every Texan we meet, we have promoted Big Bend. Such a jewel. Good on you NPS!!

We stayed at Rio Grande Village for one night at site 92 in 15 foot trailer. It was level and we enjoyed the shelter provided at this site. We rode our bicycles to the shower at the store, which was about a mile away. The shower requires 8 quarters and lasts 5-6 minutes.

Beautiful scenery, views, and wildlife. A must see for anyone who loves to hike and explore! I lived in East Texas 20 years before visiting Big Bend and all I can say is I wish I'd come sooner. The Rio Grand Village was a great place for camping, the park attendants and rangers are especially friendly and helpful, don't hesitate to ask them for recommendations! I would either look at the trails you want to explore and then find a place to stay or visa versa, this park is huge and you want to make sure you plan ahead so as not to spend all your time driving. Or not, it's always nice to take a drive and find trails along the way. Terlingua isn't much of a ghost town, just a tiny tourist spot with a gift shop and a bar and grill next door. Can't really explore any of the old buildings because most of them are inhabited or converted into businesses. I went on the Boquillas Canyon (easy) and Lost Mine Trails (moderate, pretty steep). The hot spring is a must especially at night so bring a swim suit just in case. I highly recommend a night stroll, the stars are amazing. As for gear, I went in early December so layer up, bring a hat, and your good hiking boots. Besides that, be safe, be smart, and happy hiking.

Camping shoulder to shoulder is not my cup of tea. Im so happy we found remote camping after first night. Trying to cancel the remainder of my reservation online was impossible.

Everything you ask for in an NPS campground - quiet, scenic, relaxing. Looking to go back soon.
