when we stayed there they had a hot period. We saw a heard of aoudads sheep. Very big animals! Also, take some water shoes on your hike and possibly something you are ok with getting wet. A soak in the Rio Grande River is a nice cool off in the middle of the hike. You definitely will want to bring these things to the hot springs hike. Possibly a lawn chair too if you would like to place it in the river to sit and soak your feet. The campground had trees to provide shade for your camper and some picnic tables where covered. It did cool off at night pretty good though.Donkeys and Javellana's also visited us in the campground. The donkeys wore cow bells so you could hear them at all times, even in the middle of the night. Kinda sounded like wind chimes at first.Good place to camp, hiking near by, but go there when it's cooler.

Big Bend is, well Big. Its far off the beaten path but the journey is well worth the trip. The vistas are spectacular. The history is compelling. The campgrounds are clean and well maintained. The night sky is truly something to be held in majestic awe.

One camper had a wood fire burning away while the hosts did nothing. They don't come out after dark.

Beautiful campground, big lot, bear box, safe drinking water near our campsite. Shower at Rio Grande Village, which even provides internet connection. Next time come to visit Big Bend NP, will book this campground again.

Very quiet campground, nice spacing between sites. Nearest cell coverage is four miles up the park road toward Panther Junction.

All went as expected from reservation through departure. Sites are clean and spacious. Many hiking trails throughout the park. Many birding opportunities across several types of habitat.
