The camp was not crowded and quiet. Our campsite was level and shaded. Bathrooms were clean. We plan to return.

nice campground, sufficient spaces between sites, nice to have some trees around.

Such a nice quiet campground with the nature trail so close which is a great sunset meander. Good facilities at the store to use.

My boyfriend and I had planned this trip last minute and we were lucky enough to find an available campsite on Thanksgiving day. Had such a great experience camping out in The Rio Grande Valley Campground. We discovered the nearby Hot Spring which was much needed after a long day of hiking up Emory Peak. If you are looking for a challenging, yet rewarding hike, I definitely recommend hiking Emory Peak Trail. The views from the top are breathtaking and worth the hard work to make it up there. If you also have a little time to spare, stop by the Hot Springs by the Rio Grande Valley Campground. You could drive up to the area and its only a quarter mile walk from the parking lot. Recommend going for sunrise as it is a beautiful way to start your day and it is not as packed. We were determined to try and trek through one of the canyons before leaving the park and ended up going to Santa Elena Canyon. The different perspectives from the canyon and emory peak were incredible in their own ways. Wish the canyon trail was longer, it was only about 2mi, but still made for an amazing last trail before heading back home. Wish we could've spent more time exploring the park, but with the time we did have, we are fortunate enough to have left with unforgettable sights and memories of our experience. Will definitely be planning another trip to Big Bend National Park for more explorations.
