site 78 level. Shade provided by cover over picnic table .Generally quiet though it was in a generator area. Water was available through a faucet on the site. bathrooms were clean and a short walk. Gasoline at camp store about 1/2 mile away. Camp hosts friendly.

There was plenty to see and do during our three-day stay in Big Bend, camping at Rio Grande Village. Would have been even more fun if water level had been higher so we didnt have to carry our canoe through some shallow stretches on our easy float from gravel pit to Rio Grande Village.

The non generator sites are more private but none of them are even close to level. Just get a site on one of the first three loops, they're all level and you get to see the donkeys!

Loved the campground, was very tight with tents and campers in the middle. Donkeys will come over from Mexico with bells on the ding all night.

Very clean and quiet campground with plenty to grassy areas to pitch your tent.

Great campground for access to trails on the East side of the park. The store has a lot of provisions. Showers were clean. The only drawback is the lack of connectivity. Wifi is confined to a small space and was variable and slow for downloads/sending pics. Sites are large. Beautiful scenery. Fun to be able to go to Boquillas.

I LOVE this campground. Lifelong memories for me and my family. Sunsets in the hills by the nature walk are a must. We also loved exploring the nearby hot springs trail and taking the short drive to the springs for an early morning dip! No crowds and so much fun.

Sometimes there is irrigation on the grass areas of the campsites, but other than that this is A+! Highly recommended.

Rio Grande village was an excellent location to explore the southern area of the park and visit Mexico (Boquillas). Wildlife encounters were frequent (Javelinas, birds, and hearing coyotes at night). The nature hike is fabulous, especially for watching the sunset! Campsite was roomy enough for my 20' RV, and had decent privacy.

Hot weather

The combination of a lot of wind and having to set up tents on the parking areas because they were irrigating the areas under the trees, made it difficult to secure our tents for 5 nights. That and the fact that someone started a generator at 4 am made sleeping less than ideal.

Amazing camp site. The rangers were so helpful and kind. Plenty of restrooms spread throughout the campground and the area is kid friendly. Lots of families. Everyone was great!

I also highly recommend an early morning visit to the Hot Springs a short drive from this campsite.

Rio grand village campground needs to trim overhanging branches from trees alongside roads ln campground also overhanging rv pads to the point of scratching the sides of our rvs and damaging roofs.

No electric hookups, water spigots every few sites, still a great campground. I loved sharing our site with Roadrunners (and a coyote was spotted too!) and so quiet at night after no generator o-clock it made my ears ring.

Everyone is very nice. It didn't get loud at night. Easy hikes with beautiful views. Clean. Large bear lockers.

Great place to camp with a lot of options for camping sites and several nearby hiking trails. Good place to camp during cooler months if you're in a tent. Would be quite toasty during April-October.
