Our weather was dry, and windy, but so much fun. The staff, visitors, and people we met in Boquillas were all great. Be ready to see animals wandering through the park (horses, cows, and Javelina) and many birds. Be sure to hike lots, drink lots (water mostly), and visit the hot springs with your swim suit. The hot springs are awesome in the early morning, and late night with stars.

We camped at site 49 in January which is in the no generator section. The site was great with a picnic table, bear locker and grill. We had no problem leveling our trailer. The camp hosts were excellent, greeting all the campers every day and letting everyone know about animal sightings. The Rio Grande Village store is within walking distance and they also have gas, propane, laundry facilities and showers ($2 for 5 min). Great location to explore this area of Big Bend.

Fantastic as always. A few tips:If you have a generator, make sure your site is in a generator permitted area. All sites are reservation only as of this writing. Park staff CANNOT help you with reservations; you must go online or call reservations.gov.The wind in Rio Grande Village campground can go from calm to 30 mph and gusty in literally a minute. We saw a lot of broken, crumpled tents.

We arrived to find the site we had reserved was not large enough for our fifth wheel. Park host was very accommodating and found us another site that was long enough. Only complaint is the lack of cell service and internet. We enjoyed hiking many trails-a couple right from the campground and we drove the Maxwell Scenic Drive and hiked many trails along the way as well as in the Chisos Basin.

We stayed here for 13 days. We thoroughly enjoyed the park and this campground. We stayed in the non generator section of the Rio Grande Village Campground with our 35ft 5th wheel and would definitely stay there again. We spent most of our time exploring and hiking. You definitely want to stock up on supplies before you get there although they do have a store. Cell phone coverage is very spotty but you can grab Wifi coverage at the Village Store and visitor centers. It was nice living off the grid. We even went to Mexico through the Bosquillas crossing but if you go make sure you bring $150-$200 cash as those souvenirs add up. No mater where you stay in Big Bend you will be doing some driving and there being gas stations inside the park is super convenient. Everyday we experienced Javelins, Road Runners, Coyotes, Cows and Bobcats traversing the campground. Make sure you also checkout the Ranger programs that are offered at night but don't plan on driving any more than a mile in the dark because it is really dark! Don't forget to leave e those lights off at night so everyone can enjoy the night skies.

Rio Grande Village was a great campsite. It was very quiet, had ample space for both our vehicles, tents, cooking gear, ect. The camp has large fields in between sites for the kids to play. There was a restroom close to my site, but no shower.

Great campsite and great location. Just few hundred feet from the Rio Grande River. Some of the spaces do have covered table areas and are more secluded which I would prefer the next time I stay (spaces 010-030). The restroom facilities on site are nearby. For showers and laundromat the Rio Grande Village has all that just a quarter mile down the road. The only negative is the Rio Grande Village closes at 6pm which seems quite early especially if you get back to camp at night. There are animal safe food storage lockers, picnic table, and charcoal grills at each campsite.

There's a short easy trail at the southern edge of the campsite that has fantastic views especially during sunset. It's also a quick drive to the Boquillas crossing that is definitely a must do activity from here in the park. I'd stay here again.

was a good site, able to get the sun to recharge my batteries using a 190w roof top and a 120 watt suitcase solar panel.
