Great camp host! Nice level sites with decent spacing. Good camp store and laundry with decent fuel prices. Great location for exploring Big Bend. Could use some low hanging branch trimming but mostly avoidable. We were in a NO generator site during a cold snap so it would be nice IMHO if the generator permitted area was larger. Great stay. Close to Boquillas Del Rey.

Rio Grande Village serves as a base for many activities. Crossing the river to Boquillas is fun and interesting. The town is very modest and friendly. Cabrito tacos at Jose Falcons were delicious! The boardwalk on the river is very beautiful at sunset.

Loved our stay in Rio Grande Village. The spots were just spread out enough that it didnt feel too crowded, but just close enough to give a good community feel. Bathrooms were well kept. We saw several animals and wildlife at our site. Cant wait to come back.

This is a great site for large RVs if you don't need your generator

Site itself is fine. Bathrooms small. Shower house is not located in campground, but at Rio Grande store. Only 3 showers for all the campground. $2.00 for 5 min. We did visit Boquillas! Very easy, we actually crossed the rio grande on foot and walked to town. Make sure to bring passport.Spent one day hiking Lost Mine Trail..very steep, great views and hike. Then we drove to Santa Elena Canyon and area. Another fun hike! Highly recommend!

Great location for Rio Grande hikes. The showers at the village are $2 in quarters with NO machine available. Can purchase during store hours, but not after hours. There were lots of cows seen, coyotes howling, some roadrunners moving around and javelinas seen in the campsite alone!

Campsite was great! Clean and quiet. Bathrooms not too bad. Showers were good - 2$ for 5 mins. Attendants were super nice and friendly. The store has gas, ice, and just about anything else youd need. Awesome place.

Such a wonderful oasis! We watched all sorts of birds from the campsite and saw javelina, too.

The campground was being irrigated when I arrived so there was a lot of water. As it receded the area was still quite muddy. It would have been nice to have known this ahead of time. Overall my stay was very good. Lou was a great host. The sites were clean and flat. The location gives you great access to the eastern part of the park.

Big Bend is absolutely extraordinary, and this is a good place to stay to explore it. The pay showers at the store are such high volume that it was a 5 minute painful power wash. I do not recommend them! But the campsite itself was dark and level, and the no-generator rule made it quiet. Definitely try for every sunrise and sunset while youre at BBNP, and make the climb up to see it sunset from the nature trail behind Site #18. Do NOT do the Old Mine Road unless you have serious 4WD, HIGH clearance, four hours to drive 27 miles, and a lot of guts. Its scary.

The campground is very nice. The sites on the outer loops are more private than inner loops but still all are a good size. We stayed here to see all there was to see on the east side of Big Bend NP. Prior to this we stayed in Terlingua, TX to see the west side of Big Bend NP. We spent 4 nights in Terlingua and 5 nights at Rio Grande. This enabled us to see all the sites, did many hikes and went to Boquillos Mexico. The only problem we had was backing into site 43. The mesquite trees are close on both sides with low branches. We would suggest to remove some lower branches on each side of the site and above the site. Using the shower at the Camp Store was not a problem. The camp store has limited inventory. We did come with all the food and supplies that we needed so we did not need to purchase from the camp store.

This trip was incredible! The campsite amenities were fantastic, the bathrooms were cleaning than most people's home bathrooms, and all areas of the park were maintained beautifully.

So nice to be away from cellphone and data coverage. Always meet others who truly love the NPS experience at Big Bend.
Big Bend was an amazing experience. I wish they would reopen all of the closed sites because even if those sites were open you could maintain a social distance.
Nice campsite! No hookups but spacious site. Water was available and there were nice restrooms with running water. Lots of mesquite trees with thorns on the ground so beware! Local Javalina wandering the camp in the morning.
Very nice campground. We definitely enjoyed the nature trail and watching the sunset from the hill on the trail. The campground host were very friendly and helpful. We were disappointed that the hot springs were not open this time.

Great campground, especially the no generator zone. Most sites are reasonably spaced. The outer loop is a bit more secluded by trees and would be my preference.

It was a nice little spot. It had easy access to the restrooms and Rio Grande Village Nature Trail was right next to it. I highly recommend this location.

We were very pleasantly surprised by the campground. Having never been to Big Bend, I expected extremely primitive camping. Our campsite had a sturdy bear box, and charcoal grill, there was drinking water taps very nearby and bathrooms that were clean with running water and electricity. The campground store had a good selection of essentials, pay showers or laundry and gas. It definitely exceeded our expectations and we had a great time.
