Really great spot to camp. Good hikes around the area. If you want to go across the border it is closed on certain days of the week, so check ahead. Any of the spots that are popular like the hot springs or the Chisos Basin you should go early or later in the afternoon. Chisos can get so busy you will need to wait at the bottom of the hill for a parking spot.

I always enjoy my stay at Big Bend. The camp ground is clean and the bathrooms are well maintained. The only complaint I have is that the showers dont have adequate hot water, it is warm at best. I will be visiting again in about two months.

I was initially concerned that it would be difficult for me to find my camping spot, as I was arriving well after dark and my GPS did not have access to the inside of the area I was assigned. But thanks to the helpful ranger rep, I was assured that it would be well mapped upon arrival and that I had nothing to worry about. She was right, and it could not have been easier. My stay was utterly amazing with 25 miles of hiking over two full days of travel there. The Rio Grande Village was excellent in every way... laundry, shower, store and restroom facilities all fantastic. Hikes of note to definitely take - the Marsh Trail and the nearby Ernst Trail to the hot springs, not to be missed! Chisos Mountain hikes - Lost Mine Trail and Window Trail, not to be missed either! I can't wait to return, as there was much of the park I did not see. I will absolutely be coming back here!

Me and my wife stayed in November for my birthday trip. Campground is clean and quiet no generators allowed in our area Big plus for me hate to hear those things running while trying to enjoy the outdoors. Campgrounds are pretty close together only downside but not that big of a deal. Park is amazing if you have never been definitely go but sites fill up fast almost didn't get one they where literally being reserved as I clicked to try and reserve them so 60 days in advance is recommended. Have a great time!

Staying in the generator free zone was lovely with all the trees. We were promised we’d see javelina and we were not let down! 7 went through our site when we were in our tent. Make sure to drive to the hot springs and Elena canyon!

Rio Grand Village has a no generator zone that stays quiet. I went during a busy time, but many camp spots were closed b/c of covid precautions...keeping bathrooms clean. Bathrooms were clean. Criter/bear box functioned. Quiet time was observed.

Mobile Data Speed Map
#123
If there are speed tests submitted for a campground the campsite icons will be colored based on the average download speed and the border will be colored based on the average upload speed.
In this example Campsite #123 has very good download speeds and decent upload speeds. If a campsite has a solid yellow color it means there was no data speed detected in the test(s). Clicking on a campsite icon reveals more details.
