We love Big Bend. Starry nights, gorgeous hiking, even had breakfast in Mexico. The Rangers and volunteers are always so friendly and knowledgeable. We liked site 9, despite being in a generator loop it was generally quiet. This site was just long enough for my 28ft trailer and truck, but I was backed right up to the picnic table roof. It was easy to get level. The covered picnic table was a nice bonus and it is surrounded by bushes, so you get a little privacy. No shade for the trailer but we needed sun for our solar panels.

Love this campground. It was my first visit without the camper. Chowders at the camp store are a nice touch. Disappointed in the cleanliness and smell of the bathrooms. Id never used them before, since we were always in the 5th wheel.

This was our third trip to Big Bend National Park. We chose to stay at the Rio Grande Campground to be close to the east side of the park. Facilities are very good. We had flush toilets and could walk or drive to camp store where there were paid showers. Our purpose was to ride the ferry to Boquillas Village. Had lunch it was a nice day. Previously we hiked the Santa Elena Canyon Trail. A very nice hike.

This is a great campground for visiting Big Bend. Be sure to read the site descriptions carefully to make sure you fit and/or are not too tall for overhanging branches. The descriptions are very well done.We did not use any of the restroom/shower nor laundry facilities, so I am not able to comment. The porch at the campground store can get a little busy with folks wanting wi-fi access.

Site was nice but not as much room as needed for our coach. Never was contacted by the hosts. Dump station needs some bushes to be trimmed back and a threaded hose connection for the non- potable water.

Great separation of Non/generator zone. Restrooms clean. Javelina were well trained.

Facilites were good. Trails were well marked. Take time to sit and listen and watch on the first part of the nature trail for wildlife. The overlook on the bluff has great sunset views.

We spent the end of December 2021 in our 32 foot Class A motorhome at Rio Grande Village Campground Site 009. Large campsite with plenty of room for our slides to be deployed. This is a sunny site good for those with solar panels on the roof of the camping unit. Near the trailhead for the nature trail, plenty of wildlife (javelinas, coyotes, birds).

We keep coming back to Big Bend year after year, and there is always some new place to explore or some new habitat to find new birds in. We love staying at Rio Grande Village in the non-electric campground. After three years down there we think we should try the Chisos Basin Campground. Lots of trails up there, and “The Window” trail was the highlight of this year’s visit. Can’t say enough good things about the diversity of experience available at Big Bend.

Beautiful Campground. Sites are spaced out nicely. Our first visit, but definately not our last.

The park was expansive. We camped at Rio Grande Village on the east side. The park itself was really nice and well maintained. We were excited to have several Roadrunners and about a dozen Javelina travel through camp. The only bad thing was the rented camper next to us ran their generator nearly all day streaming movies and throughout the entire night keeping some of us in camp from sleeping. The generator hours are 8am-8pm, which I wish they started at 6am, like so many other parks. Because it takes and 1 1/2 hours to drive to the West side of the park, it was important to get up early to beat the crowds. Boquillos Canyon is as breathtaking as the Santa Elena Canyon. Overall we really enjoyed our time, but probably won’t go back anytime soon.

Love BBNP! Campground was quiet. The restrooms at the campground were very clean. It has a nature trail inside the campground that actually has one of the best views IMO.

Site was marked clearly with name and date. Site as described and pictured. Grounds were clean and easy to park. Quiet. Rules were clear and followed. Close by trails.
