Decent campground and sites are not too close together. A lot of turnover as people don't stay here long given most of the parks attractions are located in the Chisos Basin area.

We absolutely do not understand that in such a place there is no cold water shower - very tired and sweaty after the whole day, we arrived after 6 pm and there was no possibility to exchange dollars for small change

Amazing campsite with the most friendly camp hosts. Unique in that Wildlife frequent the area, from cows, horses, donkeys and Javelina. Showers could use some upgrades, but otherwise excellent!

Wonderful five days even though extremely, unseasonably warm. Beautiful campground though at the southern end of the park, we were still able to cover the whole park, visiting the majority of the sites and hiking many of the trails. The only problem is the abundance of livestock, crossing the river from Mexico to graze the campground and deposit an ABUNDANCE of droppings. If it wasnt for the absolutely wonderful camp hosts who daily (sometimes twice a day) voluntarily (not in their job description) muck out the campground of cow, horse, javalina and donkey dung. If they didnt there would be no place to pitch a tent. Almost like being in a stockyard.

I loved the location of the campground. The hosts were kind and the area clean. I understand nature but wish the cow potties could be removed. Finding a clear area to pitch the tent was challenging and the toddler was not able to run and okay freely. On our last night the cows got rambunctious and it was a bit scary. However staff was on top of the incident and quickly handled it.

Loved the stars, how remote it was and the unexpected and delightful side trip to Mexico! Don't miss the hot springs.

We always enjoy our stays at Rio Grande Village! The sites are large and commodious and the view not to be topped. The wildlife wandering through the campground only enhances the experience.

Excellent Experience. Most of the campground has shade. We happened to be in one of the few that does not. Still, a great place to visit.

Rio Grande Village was great! Access to water and gas, as well as a nice collection of souvenirs and essentials at the general store. I found the trails on this section of the park to be much easier and not as diverse. As a heads up, the Hot Springs trail is closed due to COVID, as is the Boquillas border crossing

We've stayed at two different camp sites during our visit. #8 doesn't have much shade, #26 have lots of shade and privacy, yet couldn't nail down the tent due to the gravel floor. These are no generator sites, pretty quite at night time. I had good night sleeps during our stay here.

This was our 5th Thanksgiving in Big Bend NP. Quite different in a lot of ways. Obviously, the biggest impact was that due to Covid 19 limitations, there were a lot less people in the park. Normally that would be a good thing but since you couldn't really congregate, it made it feel almost empty. And of course the other consequences of the pandemic were that the Boquillas crossing was closed and the Rio Grand Village store was only open limited hours. The last big difference was the temperature. We are used to having cool and cold weather gear on hand, this year required shorts and t-shirts. It was hot. Regardless of all the differences, it was still and amazing visit and I have no doubt that we will be back again.

Very nice campground with shaded and sunny sites. Back in and pull through are available. No water or electric at sites. Dump station at the entrance. There is a no generator area for those who prefer quiet.

If there are speed tests submitted for a campground the campsite icons will be colored based on the average download speed and the border will be colored based on the average upload speed.
In this example Campsite #123 has very good download speeds and decent upload speeds. If a campsite has a solid yellow color it means there was no data speed detected in the test(s). Clicking on a campsite icon reveals more details.
