Great location within Big Bend National Park to use as a base camp. There is a nice Nature Trail you can walk, it's near the campground and you can also walk down to the Rio Grande River. Boquillas Crossing is 5 miles away from the campground. The only downside about this campground is that some campers use very loud generators so that takes away from the ambience. Campsite itself (#7) was level and located near flush toilets.

We stayed at Rio Grande Village in late January and the weather was very mild. (Some cold nights, but beautiful sunny days). The restrooms are clean and well maintained and we were grateful for the coin-operated showers in the shop just down the road. It was incredibly windy the first day we got there. It settled by the next day, but come prepared to tie or weigh your belongings down, or secured them in sturdy containers.

Awesome place. So friendly. Great hiking trails. We loved the sites in Rio Grande Village (non-electric) as spacing and size was wonderful. Easy access to Mexico at Boquilles Port of Entry. We want to return to this village. Wonderful people. My husband and I rode a horse to the village and back to the river when done visiting. The visitor centers at Panther and Rio Grande Village answered all questions. Very helpful. We are looking forward to return to explore the hot springs and return to Mexico again. Thank you for a spectacular time.

We loved so much about this campground. Our hosts, Billy and Tonya were so helpful and kind and added even more joy to our trip. The trail behind the campground was such a fun hike for the kids and a great coffee spot to catch the sunrise. We are recruiting friends to make the trip back to Big Bend with us and we will be booking this campground again.

The park was wonderful, clean, and not crowded. We used the Shaka App and with our GPS, the app would start anywhere in the park we were, and it brought Big Bend to life.

Thank you to those, including the park hosts, who worked during the gov. shutdown. Thanks to the ranger presence we continually saw while there during the shutdown. We had a great stay. We did so much planning and were so glad to experience our planned vacation.

The bathrooms and showers were in poor condition and smelt like raw sewage.

We love Big Bend and all it has to offer. The Rio Grande Village campground has everything we needed. We were tent camping. The bathroom facility was always clean, no trash in the campground, easy access to trash and recycle bins.

Very spacious campsites and good bird peeping. Look out for the javalinas, they'll tend to avoid you but best to keep your distance. Lovely morning hike on the nature walk. Very convenient if you want to float Hot Springs canyon! We got dropped off at Hot Springs and then floated down to the Rio Grande Village group campground water access.

We enjoyed the option of being able to stay in the park! It made the trip a lot easier and the trails more easily accessible. Our camping spot was clean and ready for us. Nearby flush toilets, sinks, and trash were easily available. The campsites give enough space for some breathing room but you are definitely aware of your neighbors as we expected. Thankful for the low-cost option for adventuring with my family!

Camp hosts were wonderful. Very helpful in finding me a new spot when someone moved into my reserved spot during the day when I was out hiking. Online Reservation system needs some improvement.

Camp by the Rio Grande Nature Trail is perfect for sunsets. Easy reach for nice day hikes and the crossing to Mexico are great as well. Coyotes are, uh, very friendly in this camp ground.

Rio Grande is the largest campsite in Big Bend and because of that it is of course noiser and less private than others, but the campsite was clean, as were the facilities.

Big Bend is very remote, but well worth the drive. We recommend spending a minimum of 3 days at the park. Note: they do not carry white gas at any of the park stores. Make sure you bring enough for the entire trip.
