great place, super clean, and quiet. Just keep an eye out for the stray dogs that come over from Mexico.

Though the campground was nice, there is not a lot in the area. We thought wed go into Mexico for dinner but they stop that at 4:00. We did visit the hot springs though and that was fun.

Beautiful park with lovely backcountry campsite on East Rim in Chisos mountain as well as car camp site in Rio Grande Village... Scenic sites, great ranger programs. Need more than 4 days..

Great site with shade! Had a close encounter with some cows! wandering through the campground. That was unexpected! Nice campground, spaces are spread out so you're not in someone else's space. I was there in late April and th weather was very nice, temperature getting up to 90, so already at the edge of comfort. Be sure to fill yor gas tank before you head down here! Gas is available, but pricey.

Rio Grande Village has the most services of any campsite in Big Bend National Park - lots of campsites, camp store, gas, even showers and a dump station. Also the most people and congestion to go with that. A good choice and we enjoyed it very much before moving to sites in the back country.

There were incredibly helpful Rangers and some really nice people and some really decent campsites, but also, not really a problem of the park but a problem of everyone visiting Big Bend now, ran into someone who thought it was OK to leave their car lights on shining into our campsite for a good 30 to 40 minutes and then they got mad when I asked him to please turn them off. That could happen anywhere but it in a dark sky park I think its really important to remind everyone not to do that. Perhaps a sign or some thing at each entrance? Maybe there is when we didnt see it, but we know better. The campground itself was incredibly clean. Our campsite was bizarre in that because we had a trailer and apparently it was set up for a tent - This meant that we had to use the parking spot for our camper and then the rest of our quite large campsite was completely cut off from us by posts to keep peoples cars in place. The backside of our campsite where the picnic table and the grill were located, sat right up next to someone elses backyard of their campsite, and was separated, by the parking posts, from the rest of our campsite. It was incredibly bizarre. We ended up moving to a different campground simply because of our campsite situation. Otherwise, it is a fantastic place to be.

We enjoyed our 4 night stay very much That said, I'll mention: the sites on the back loops (we were in 35) are quite a bit more private that the central ones, but there are overhanging branches that make it hard to get into some of them, which could have been mentioned in the site descriptions. Although the campground said it was full by reservation on line and at the campround, about a third of the sites were vacant each night, some near us for multiple nights in a row. That's quite a disservice to the public. Construction work in the campground started with back-up beepers at 6:30 a.m., before dawn. None of this got in the way of us enjoying our trip, thanks as always to Big Bend!

Friendly clerks at the store. Wonderful short hikes around. Quiet campground and nature trail. Wonderful that the showers and laundry are open 23 hours a day. EZ to get reservations. Beautiful temperature.

The scenery was breathtaking! I was blown away by the diverse and unspoiled desert, river and mountain landscapes. The opportunity to travel across the border to Mexico directly from within a national park was fun and unique. I am planning my return trip already!

The site was lovely, albeit a bit sunny. The amenities were clean and the bathrooms were perfect. The showers are a bit far from the tent sites and at least 1 stall was identified as broken or did not turn on when quarters were put in. Having more showers for such a large campsite would be a nice upgrade. Scenery was lovely and site was pretty quiet which was good. It would be nice to have clear delineation of generator and non-generator sites indicated on the booking map. We were lucky that we were in the non-generator area where we wanted to be but I wasn't certain, based on the map data available, that we were in a whole area that was non-generator (I knew our site was non-generator) but it was much clearer where the boundary between generator and non-generator was once you arrived. Clarity beforehand would have added certainty to our planning.

The campground is close to the river and has a wonderful , close nature walk which is delightful at sunset. It is also walking distance to the amphitheater for ranger talks. The bathroom was not heated and neither was the water. It froze several nights in a row so there was a sign to leave the water dripping at night so it wouldn't freeze. For a park that has freezing temperatures it would make sense to put some solar panels on top of the bathroom to have minimal heat at night for the bathroom. There was a critter box for food, a small grill, and a picnic table. the camping spot was flat. Be sure you check to see how big it is before bringing a large trailer as some campsites will not hold anything but a small trailer or two tents. There is a no generator zone which we, as tent campers, appreciated. The camp hosts were nice.

Loved Big Bend and had a good site for our camper van. Bathhouse was clean and nice to have a place to wash dishes. It would've been nice to have hot water. Biggest complaint was the fact that there was no unleaded gas for the car there in the village. The showers were a joke. 2 or 3 works and the water was barely warm. Charged $12 for a $4 small propane bottle. Not impressed. Loved the park, camp ground was fine but..... needs some improvements

This was a nice enough area for a one night stay. It was within driving distance of the Boquillas Canyon trail and Hot Springs trails and was also very close to the camp store. I say nice enough because it was pretty crowded and quite a bit of noise (generator and music playing) going into the evening.

Upsides: good campground, close to Boquillas Canyon and the Hot Springs. The camping lots are spacious and contain a bearproof box and a grill. Downside: hours. 8am - 8pm quiet hours, too early if you wanna have dinner outside later and showers close at 6pm.

The campground was clean and quiet. Bathrooms were very clean. The laundromat was out of order and showers are closed. The gas station ran out of gasoline for two days while we were there. You should bring everything you need for a trip here, and don't come with your gas tank on empty. Mid April is really too warm for camping, we spent a lot of time driving around in the air conditioning and playing in the river. Chisos Basin was evacuated and closed for a fire half of the time we were there, so we couldn't even go up in the mountains to cool off. We usually go in Mid March but I couldn't get reservations. I am definitely going to be coming back, but not in April.

We had a relaxing three days at this campground. Lazy days were spent reading under a tree as we waited for the magical sunsets at the top of the nature trail. Make sure to slowly walk back to your site through the inner loop (site 89) to get a picture of the cute little Javelina pack. This trip was relaxing and mesmerizing.
