Nice shady and large site. Bathrooms need a bit more attention when campground is full.

That campground is too hot!! We were there the end of April and the temps hit 102 degrees. Hard to do anything but sweat. Nighttime was in 80s. Also there is NO cell service. You can get WiFi at the store. The people working there are wonderful. So friendly but the place is just too hot.

Your reservation system leaves some sites unused and unavailable for others to use. Also when a site opened up the day of our visit internet service was not robust enough there for us to reserve on line.I waited 40 minutes on hold waiting for someone to talk to in order to reserve an open site that night.

8-10 full service RV sites could not be rented due to sewage issue. So with a fully functioning RV, we spent two nights in in a no services, no generator site. Oppressive number of rules; such as one person needs to stay in RV with the dogs at all times.Passport needed to cross the river(not true for millions crossing at Eagle Pass and Del Rio).

Best park ever. Might want to fix some backroads to give others a more full experience. Even with a four wheel high clearance vehicle, some roads were too rough.

We stayed on site 29, shaded and no generators. Bathroom was directly behind our site so we could hear the septic system, but no biggie. Loved the roadrunner! Camp hosts were wonderful. Close to nature trail for gorgeous sunsets. First door of women's bathroom didn't lock. But other than that a lovely stay!!

Campsites are fantastic. Location is beautiful and lots of great trails right nearby. There were javelina roaming through. Clean facilities and gas and store were a great amenity. Would happily stay here again!

Our site, #29, was very secluded with great wind coverage and had close access to water and the bathrooms. The bathrooms could have been cleaned a bit more frequently.

site #29- is in non- generator loop, but sites allowing generators are directly behind it. I would not pick this site again. Large RV with motor running for over an hour and host did not stop it. Pick a site across the road that has more separation. They were nice sites. Rest of campground looks like an RV park.

Really liked the park. It has lots of space for each campsite. Ours was in the trees and had plenty of privacy. Our favorite part though was the nature trail which offered incredibly beautiful sunset views.Highly recommend it.

Dark, dark skies. Plenty of space between campsites. Lots of hiking nearby. Rode our bikes to the store for wifi several times. Nearby border crossing to Boquilles was a unique, fun experience. We will definitely be back.

Rio Grande Village campground has a diverse collection of sites from wide open and generator friendly to very private and nature focused. Loved the access to showers, laundry, gasoline, and ice. The Nature Trail at the campground is a plus with many other hiking/exploring options close by like Hot Springs. I will certainly make reservations at RGV for my next Big Bend visit.

First and foremost, the campground is at an hour and a half from Highway 90. So plan ahead to arrive at your designated site as early as possible in the day so you can take it vantage of a hike or drive after your arrival and set up of camp. We went to the evening ranger show regarding dark skies around the country and big Ben in particular. It was very informative. The Rio Grande village campground is very well laid out and sites are spacious and some what shaded. stop at the general store and get a map because it could be confusing in the dark. Showers are only available at the village store at $ 2for 5 minutes. Dont miss the historic Hot Springs, it is walkable and flip-flops from the lower parking lot. We did not cross the river to Boquilles but it did look like it interesting excursion. This park is very large so give it plenty of time.
