A great spot! The covered picnic tables are great, and the structures that support the roof are great for a hammock! This site is right across from the Nature Trail entrance though, so can get annoying with all the activity.

Nice, well maintained park. Some sites are permitted to use generators, others nearby arent permitted to use them but can clearly hear them. I prefer limited hours for all sites. The volunteer led geographical walk is worth the time.

No cell service or wifi, but the views and peacefulness of the area made up for that. Camp hosts greeted me and provided treats for my pups. Very nice people and made me feel welcome. Last night had two wild horses grazing right next to my Sprinter van! That was awesome.

Good base for this corner of the park. For bird watchers, the nature trail is excellent as is nearby Daniel's Ranch.

I'm in a generator allowed site, but it must be turned off in the hottest part of the day? (generator hours are 8-11am and 5-8pm.) The generator .keeps the A/C going that keeps the animals cool. Thus, I couldn't visit the park because we have cats and I had to be at the campsite to keep the cats cool. This is an inhumane practice! This also prevented me from seeing the park!

The campsite was clean, well-equipped, and the welcome was very kind. The campsite was a little smaller than I expected. Since only three of us came, it was plenty of room. However, had the original five decided to show up it would have been a little crowded. On our second night, a group of camper in the campsite behind our were extraordinarily loud late into the evening and finally concluding around 1 AM. It was so disruptive that we opted to leave around 2:30 in the morning because we could not get to sleep.

If you get a site on the outer loop (I had #18) they are nice and private. Bonus that you can hike up the nature trail for sunset or sunrise! Definitely take the trek over to Boquillas for some delicious Mexican food and margaritas! My only issue is with the company that runs the campground, Aramark. I accidentally left my good, expensive hiking shoes in the shower facility when we were leaving Big Bend. I called a couple days later when I was back in NY and asked if they could ship them to me and I would pay for the shipping. They just said that they don't do that and asked if I would be picking them up. I said no, I am in NY! Other than that though, it's a nice campground.

Loved the Rio grand Nature hike at sunset. Saw wild horses and a cowgirl riding along the river, both on Mexico side. Sunset was spectacular and the golden glow on the mountains was awesome.

Mobile Data Speed Map
#123
If there are speed tests submitted for a campground the campsite icons will be colored based on the average download speed and the border will be colored based on the average upload speed.
In this example Campsite #123 has very good download speeds and decent upload speeds. If a campsite has a solid yellow color it means there was no data speed detected in the test(s). Clicking on a campsite icon reveals more details.
