Great campground, sites are private, we really enjoy the ranger talks and were disappointed that staffing cuts made it impossible for them to do the talks.

Peaceful ( we were in the RV no generator section), clean, and well laid out. Great location near Nature Trail with Rio Grande views. Really nice.

Loved the siteit was large and spacioussoft dirt for tents, close to the bathrooms, tucked back so not many cars driving by, and near nature trails. Would pick this site all over again.

Pleasantly surprised by how clean and well maintained the bathrooms were. Covered picnic tables were also great.

Loved this campground. Really nice, beautiful location. Campsite was great - had nice shade and was in a quiet spot.

Loved almost everything about this campground. Restrooms were few considering the number of sites, so they weren't that close, but not that much of a hike. We were in an area that the campsites were fairly secluded by trees from our neighbors, which we like. There were others that were not like this. Camp host/volunteers were great and provided lots of good suggestions.

Very nice campground - clean, well-kept sites and facilities, and very convenient to the camp store (which has laundry, showers, snacks, souvenirs, etc.). Site 015 is very convenient to the restrooms without being on the main road. But I'm mostly leaving a review to say that the camp host was so kind, helpful, and welcoming! He explained which animals are frequently seen at my site and gave relevant tips. Also, as a young woman traveling solo, I really appreciated how he made sure I knew which site he and his wife were at, and that I should come by anytime if I had any problems. Great folks!

This was my 5th time staying at Rio Grande Village, and I will continue coming back. The Rio Grande Village Nature Trail is at the campground, which is a great perk. There's also very close access to the Hot Spring Canyon Trail and Boquillas Crossing.

Smooth and quiet

We arrived late in the night as we had a very long drive from Carlsbad Caverns NP. Campground was poorly signed and we had to circle three times before we could find our site. Got up early the next morning and left. Later that evening while we were back at the little picnic area adjacent to the campground we saw a camp host go by in their cart, flip a u-turn and come back to us. A short portly woman with gray hair and a volunteer uniform got out of the cart, marched up to me and without even introducing herself or asking who we were proceeded to cuss me out (and I do mean that literally) for a solid 5 minutes for circling the campground so many times so early in the morning.

While I certainly acknowledge that the diesel engine in our camper is not the quietest thing on the planet and that needing to circle 3 times was less than ideal, we were trying to be as respectful as possible (in fact part of the reason we circled rather than back up was so the back-up buzzers wouldn't sound). It certainly didn't warrant this treatment.

She ended by yelling at us to never come back...so I guess we will never be back.

We are avid users of Recreation.gov and supporters of National Parks for many years. In over 5 years on the road, never have we been treated so poorly.

The campgrounds and staff are absolutely amazing. Everything is nicely kept, wildlife viewing is great, stargazing, etc etc. Showers nearby were not working but it was still worth it for us. The only downsides are disrespectful obnoxious campers who abuse their right to use generators in the generator area, which can be heard from everywhere, especially those rigs that sound like they are running a construction site; other disrespectful campers bring their dogs on trails pretending not to know they are not allowed, and go fishing in the nature trail without a permit. The Park authorities should be able to control all these situations better, they are really close to making this the perfect campsite. Keep up the amazing work!!

We really enjoyed the campsites at Rio Grande Village. Having javalina wander through camp was fun. Really enjoyed our hike on the nature trail.
The shelter in the site is very nice. Glad we were not closer to the generator zone. Didn’t care for their noise. We will definitely be back. Just wish we could have stayed longer. It’s too hard to get a reservation.

Loved our time there. It can get a bit windy in that area, though, so be ready for that!
