Avoid spring break, if possible. The park destinations were much less crowded Monday and Tuesday than the previous weekend. Santa Elena canyon was beautiful. The historical preservations are educational and interesting as well as the presentation at the Pine Junction visitors center.

The site I chose was not large enough for a tent pitch (Loop 3, Site 10). I was able to set up my self supporting tent on the concrete pad beneath the picnic area roof. The rest of the campground met my expectations. This would be a nice spot for a small RV or a pickup truck dirtbagger setup. I dirtbagged in my small pickup and my sister had the tent. On our way out, we saw some quite nicer sites to consider in the future. My problem was the late date that I reserved, as there were only 10 sites available in the whole park at the time I reserved. Early bird and the worm!

Nicely Maintained camp site and clean bathrooms. Not far from trails and visitor center, store and even gasoline. Site are large and flat with fire ring, BBQ, huge shed and picnic table for every sites. The best campground inside Big Bend National Park.

Great campground, we stayed in spot 10 that had great shade and privacy. Right across from the bathrooms which was continent. You could hear the hand dryers every time they were used, but didnt bother us much. Made friends with a stray pup, saw/heard some coyotes. The camp hosts were great and kind. Definitely recommend.

Very nice campground. We had a covered awning and picnic table. Did not feel crowded. Nice nature walk to river. Bathrooms were clean. Would definitely stay there again.

This park is a gem. It is a terrific combination of mountains, desert and river. The best way to enjoy this park is get out of the car and hike the various trails.

No enforcement of noise after quiet hours. A very large party engaged in inconsiderate boots and screams until after midnight just a few sites away from the campground host who did nothing to quiet the disruption to the entire campground’s peace.

Beautiful area. Real bathrooms. Donkeys close by!
