We stayed for two nights at this campsite. Our site was easy to find and pull into. Campground and bathrooms were kept clean. We enjoyed our time camping here. Although not site hookups, the water and dump station was close by for convenience.

The beauty of this National Park is amazing. But the infrastructure compared to other national park is not so great. Roads to some of the scenic locations need improvement. Parking areas only have very limited spots and most don't accommodate larger rigs. Many trail heads have almost no parking and have no restroom facilities. Some of the trails we were on need clearer markings to ensure you don't take wrong turns...We were in the park for 1 week in a small 4x4 truck camper and were able to scout some of the back country campsites, which were amazing. We will definitely come back to stay at those to enjoy the views, total silence and darkness. This particular campground was large, busy and had some no generator sites. Lots of wildlife. Bobcats, coyote, cows and donkeys going through camp. We also stayed a few nights at Cottonwood which is a NO generator camp ground with less sites. Both campsites were clean and well kept..

While visiting Big Bend, we camped in our Airstream at Rio Grand Village Campground in the dry camping area. Having previously stayed in the tight full hookup area for one night, the dry sites have large cottonwoods for shade have greater distance between neighbors. Although generators are allowed in some sites, we hardly heard any despite the heat. Javelinas roamed the campground in the evenings and coyotes and bobcats were spotted in the day use area. Big Bend is so expansive that we filled the gas tank when down to half of a tank in order to drive to all areas of the park. The Chisos Mountains area was beautiful amidst the desert and a welcome respite from the temps. The Parmesan Truffle Onion Rings at the lodge restaurant were outstanding!Definitely, Big Bend is a unique park experience!

Nice campground but at the far end of Big Bend park. Would be great if it had electric hook ups. Quiet and great dark skies

Campsite was ready, labeled for us and clean when we arrived. Everybody was quiet, and only one person had a dog on the nature trail (which is so against the rules). Bathroom was plenty clean and stocked. I would recommend.

Book early, early, early for the best campsites. Campsites are released in two tranches ... 6 months ahead and 14 days ahead. I didn't have any trouble slotting in an excellent site by booking 6 months ahead. Keep in mind that to use a generator (as there is no electricity) you will need to get a campsite where generators are allowed.Campground was super clean. Also, the store is only a half a mile away or so. My previous trips to Big Bend we have stayed in Chisos motel units and (one time) a stone cottage. Chisos is far more developed than Rio Grande Village, is cool any time of the year, and located more central to the park.

The campground was very clean, the campsites were large and the bathrooms were clean. My only complaint is that the showers did not have hot water, it was lukewarm at best, and on a cold day it made showering uncomfortable. Overall I enjoyed my stay and will return.

Great campground in a great park! Everything was clean at the campground. The nearby nature trail makes a great place to view the sunset. Would recommend it!

MUST SEE: Take the rowboat across the Rio Bravo to Boquillas del Carmen, ride a burro into town, and pass out $5.00 bills to all of the cute youngsters who want to sell you something. Their happiness is your happiness.

I have never had issues with a campground host but the "host/Ranger" here is out of control! She is aggressive and extremely rude, even commenting under her breathe about my appearance. I did not feel comfortable staying here with her.

The campsites were great. Lots of room between sites. The rangers were extremely helpful and knowledgeable.

I had a hard time getting a reservation. Camp ground 1/2 full because of covid rules, location good, nice hikes, close by
