Nice campground, especially if you love dark skies at night. Clean bathrooms, utility sinks for dishes, plenty of potable water spigots. Wildlife aboundssaw a family of javelinas, and there was a coyote right outside the bathrooms one night. If youre not a generator person, try to get a site in the no-generator areas. Honestly it would probably be more environmentally friendly if the CG had electric hookups, rather than all the random loud generators.

I had a very nice experience here; they had more than you would expect from a campsite. The bathrooms were clean, water was provided, utility sink for washing dishes. Campsites were clean and well-maintained.

I booked online. Pulled onto my sight. Sat there probably 2 minutes. Woman came up to window said...are you lost? Need something. Kinda rude. I said no im right where im supposed to be. I started to show her my reservation and she said...i dont want to see your reservation. Just thought she could have been a little nicer. Goes along way. Campground is a place to sleep...thats about it. No showers. I stayed 2 more nights in another area of the park much secluded which was great

We arrived in the middle of a snowstorm and were happy to just have rain down there. Campsite was not ready and we were assigned a muddy one but it works! What an excitement to see the mountains covered in white!

There was a site in the generator zone that ran his gen 8 to 8 ... we didn't come to Big Bend to listen to a gen all day. We submitted a feedback card as we left. Most parks allow 2 hours in the morning for breakfast and 2 in the evening for dinner. Maybe it is time for a change in RIO as it is a great spot.

Site 72 - Vehicle-Tent Camping Review. Easy Access to Nature Trail and Daniels Ranch/Hot Springs Trail (adds about 1 flat-mile to round-trip). *This is a Generator area. I learned that the hard way. :) Showers/Store are within a 5-10 min walk. This was one of the big +'s of the Campground.

Many sites have or are going to have shade shelters which is a nice improvement.Trees are in need of trimming for RV sites!!!!!RGV has become such a popular CG that the NPS needs to construct coin-op showers!

Plenty of space, shade. There is a nice short trail in the back of the campground that leads to the Rio Grande. Views are great

I would recommend staying a couple days in each campground. All three areas have amazing hikes and sites. the bathrooms are really clean. Only cold water at Chisos. Rio Grande has SHOWERS for $2. High clearance vehicles are needed to access some trails or scenic roads but are not needed for the main roads or campgrounds.
