Campground was very nice and well maintained. Recommend the nature trail at RGV as it is a nice easy trail that ascends to an elevation that provides beautiful views of the Rio Grande as well as the canyons. We enjoyed riding on the 4X4 trails, particularly Black Gap. Lastly, highly recommend the hot springs for a soothing and relaxing soak.

They use traffic cones to block the road in front of site 66 - maybe its a handicap site - but those with that site just park in the road in front of site 66. But even when site 66 isnt used, the road in front is blocked so exiting rigs have to make a sharp right trying to avoid tree branches. So weird that they block that. If its handicap - just make a new handicap site elsewhere so the road can be used by everyone. We would eat our breakfast each day and watch rigs try to navigate past that. Its a great park but that is so weird to block that road for one campsite.

Great location near the Rio Grande. Sites were wide open and offered no privacy. Saw a pack of javelinas one evening. Restrooms were clean.

Clean and quiet. Wide open grassy areas to set up a tent. I did not feel like neighbors were right on top of me. Clean toilets. Showers are a short walk away.
No phone service at the campground

We had a great time camping at Rio Grande Village except for the mules keeping us up all night braying and the one that had a bell on it singing all night long.

Big Bend was great as always. I just don’t understand why they had what seemed like 75% of the campsites closed off??
Covid related on the signs. But for camping??

The campground is spacious. All the other campers were friendly. There is a store within walking distance where you can get phone service. The bath houses were clean except for all the flying insects that came in at night. The nature trail to Rio Grande is wonderful and be sure to take cash because you can shop along the trail. Saw Javelinas, heard donkeys, saw coyote and roadrunner on the ride out. No hookups, but some sites allow generators. It was a great stay. Well worth the out of the way drive. Recycle bins at the bath house.

Please open all the campsites. They are all 30-40 feet apart. Also, go back to 1st come,1st serve. Much easier for everyone. Many sites get reserved and the guest doesn’t show up. Just wastes the site. Also, please open Cottonwood. More convenient to get to town for those staying multiple days.
