The Rio Grande Village campground was very nice, clean bathrooms, convenient location. We really enjoyed the Santa Elena canyon hike. It was amazing.

This was one of my favorite National Park campground experiences. We saw coyotes, road runners, javelinas, horses, donkeys, and mules at the camp throughout our stay. The nature trail that starts right at this campground made for a great walk at sunrise. The overlook from the end of the trail offers a great view of the campsite as it sits right on the Rio Grande. If you plan to book a day river trip through Hot Springs Canyon, staying here may give you extra time to relax or explore. Our guides through Big Bend Boating and Hiking Company arranged pickup and drop off nearby, which saved us hours of travel time we would have spent driving to and from Terlingua.

Great campground in a wonderful location. Having drinking water and toilets was great for a long stay in our travel trailer. Javelinas, horses, cows and road runners throughout campground. Good hear the Coyotes at night. Very cool

Beautiful campground. And fantastic hosts. There were a lot of mosquitoes at the campground. Also this is the hottest part of the park. Big bend was fantastic

I have stayed at Rio Grande Village several times over the past 30+ years and have always enjoyed it. Not so this time. I made the reservation knowing that there was construction going on in the campground, so I had already lowered my expectations. But the horses grazing through the campground dropping manure everywhere and the Border Patrol vehicle cruising through both motivated me to cut my stay short.

This is a beautiful campground. Close to the river with fabulous birdwatching opportunities. Site No. 061 is in a low lying area so a bit moist and soft. Im very disappointed that the Park Service is allowing cattle to graze inside the campground! Amazing! There was cow poop everywhere. Especially en route to the restroom.

Nice campground with level sites. A few pull throughs but mostly back in sites. Some sites are in the trees and may have clearance issues for higher rigs but provide shade in the warmer months. Campground is close to Boquillas Mexico border crossing, hot springs and some of the back country roads. Convenience store and fuel is about 1/2 mile from the campground.

check in and out is pretty self-service. the signs to the site is well laid out. you are about 30 feet from your neighbor. there's a metal picnic table and metal grill at each site. there are restrooms to use. There is a utility sink for you to wash dishes. there's a trash and recycling can. There's a bulletin board with information such as the 9:30 Hot Springs tour, 7PM star gazing event. I'm glad I looked, the hot springs tour was great, and not too far of a drive. you could even hike there from the rio grande village site, but I'm not sure where exactly the trail is. In the AM the park rangers do a walk through and say hi. At night, noise curfew is 10PM and if you continue to be loud, then you will get reprimanded. However that doesn't prevent the cars and their car lights from going into your tent past 10PM. We went to the hot springs at night and tried to be considerate of that as we came back onto the site. We did the Rio Grande Nature Trail to see the sunrise - it's worth it! Check the bulletin for sunrise time and give yourself 30 minutes from leaving the tent to the top of the trail. It's warmer here than Chisos which I am grateful for because we went during Thanksgiving and I was already cold at night!

There were no showers available. All the best shady camping spots were closed due to Covid the sign said. Outdoors spaced 100 feet apart, really? Other than that the experience was good. This National Park is primarily suited for hikers though.
