Nice campground, except for the generators.

My initial concern was with the ability to get fuel, because I was driving my RV, but the Panther Creek gas station was open and had plenty fuel. The only place we couldn't go was the Chisos Mountain basin but we will definitely go back for that. Make sure to watch the movie at the Park headquarters, as its interesting to say the least. There was plenty of potable water available also if you need it, and the campsite has a dishwashing station by the bathrooms.

Highlights of our trip: 1) camping in Rio Grande village (nice spread out sites, lots of wildlife and nature walk gives fantastic views), 2) Santa Elena canyon!, 3) Hiking the "window" in Chios canyon and 4) relaxing in the cool(ish) water of the Rio Grande at the hot springs. This park is large - give yourself 3-4 days to see it. We visited in mid April. I would like to come back when the temps are below 80F

Great campsite to see the night skies on a clear night. Close to the hot springs. There is a nature trail that has a great little spot for watching the sunset or sunrise. The cows that roamed around at night were a fun little touch to the experience.

Not all sites at Rio Grande have shade cover over picnic tables.

We camped with our 5 year old grandson and especially enjoyed the fossil program by a park ranger.

Count on meeting your camp host, so helpful in answering questions on hikes I was interested in. Campgrounds are very well maintained and restrooms are clean.I split my time staying on the west and east sides of the park over a 1 week period. I would welcome a week in each spot in the future, more hikes to be done!

We had some shade which was nice. The bathrooms were good, but wish there was more air flow- quite the hot box. Would be nice also to have some sort of counter or a place to put your things when washing up. Great to have grills and bear boxes at each sight.
Could have done without the cows and horses milling about.

We really enjoyed our stay. The park is very clean. You can tell the the employees really care about the environment.

Largest of the Big Bend NP campgrounds. Generators are allowed at some sites. So plan for the noise. Other than that, great location to discover the beauties of the east part of the park. Great Nature Trail adjacent to the campground. My kids really loved it.

Showers!! How is having showers off better to prevent covid! If people can't get clean they are gonna spread more then just covid! Also everything was price gauged! Gas 3.20!!! Sunscreen and bug spray 14! If u forgot something it was cheaper to drive all the way out to the gas station, cause then you could fill up, and with the money you saved from filling up would cover the drive!

Did not like that we had to do the big bend shuffle. We booked site 35 but it could barely accommodate our 24 ft motor home so we asked if we could change sites. Was told that we’d have to wait til 5 and see if some people that did not come the day before would be coming late. Site 10 and another site would possibly be available. If we did take one of the sites at 5 we’d have to do changes through Recreation.gov but the campsite had no cell service. Crowded into site 35 and woke up the next morning that our previous site 59 site 10 and many others were open due to no shows
