Loved this site! One of the few with covered eating, close to bathrooms, perfect amount of space for smaller parties. Not much space to park near the site but made it work, only bad thing was the ground is very rocky making staking a tent difficult.

Always enjoy camping at Chisos Basin. Only downside is the limited space for parking in our actual campsite.

The perfect spot for camping in the park with the best views. We loved it!

My favorite campground, clean and beautiful. Close to the lodge and visitor center for extra convenience.

Horrible stay. And I'm not counting bugs and heat. Lax staff and unruly campers made it unenjoyable. Group showed up late and camped right across from camp steward. They had no res. and had not payed. Steward shows up next morning acting official after this group kept campground up well past midnight (I heard other campers ask them to be quiet). Nothing was done and idiots just packed up and left. If I return I guess it'll be lodge "camping" or a stay in Terlingua, which is too bad because this is one of the most unique, special campgrounds I've used. Astonished at staff and campers in this whole situation. The one young female in the group even laughed and made fun of campers and staff after both interactions. Staff needs more spine in regard to unruly campers.

For Milky Way photos this is the place.

The campground is pretty crowded and the sites are close together but as a base camp for the beauty of Big Bend it is awesome. The camp host is friendly, the bathrooms are clean. There are laundry machines, a store and a restaurant at the lodge that is close by by car ( an uphill trek by foot).

Absolutely gorgeous location! It's the perfect central location for multi-day adventures and lots of hiking trails close by.

Great location - such a beautiful camping site, loved all of the beautiful mountains nearby. The campsite manager was very professional and provided some great information. Campsite was clean as were the bathrooms.

Big Bend was a delightful surprise for us--we weren't sure what to expect. Chisos Basin was particularly awesome as it was definitely cooler than the rest of the park--perfect for sleeping in a tent after a hot day. The views were incredible--Casa Grande was in our backyard and we could watch the sun set through the Window from our site. Many sites included a roof over the picnic table--that shade was appreciated in the middle of the day. We saw a mother black bear and two cubs as we were leaving the Basin one morning. The camp hosts were extremely knowledgeable and very friendly--they checked in on us (in a friendly, good way) each night we were there, happy to answer questions and offer suggestions, if asked.

Perfect trip, great site, the park host was awesome, and we had great weather! Emory was closed so we did Laguna Meadows, which is a trail I always pass up in favor of Emory but it was a neat hike and a little easier for my under functioning hiker friends :)

Can’t beat the views! Loved camping here with our small children. Would recommend bringing earplugs/headphones; the wind is so loud!
The bathrooms decent. Some of the campsites seemed close together, but ours was secluded enough. We can’t wait to come back someday!

Campsite situated in the Chisos Basin -beautiful and stunning views! It was close to a variety of hiking trails. The camp host was friendly and offered helpful tips and information. No shower available but the bathroom was clean and accessible. Keep in mind that no wood fires are allowed at this campsite; charcoal and gas are ok. Come prepared with supplies/food; it's a long way to a grocery or supply store. Water is provided but limited for each guest (5 gallons per day); the park has to truck in water daily to the sites so please be mindful of your water use! Enjoy!
