Amazing views, quiet campground, great hiking in the area, access to fresh drinking water and nice staff.

Nice campground with amazing views. Great place to start your Outer Mountain Loop hike.

Beautiful campsite. Spots are in many cases pretty close together, but we were able to get one a little separate from our neighbors. Make sure to read the descriptions; most sites are not level, so difficult if you're camping in a vehicle.Clean bathrooms and helpful camp manager.

Besides getting double booked on the second site we booked and having to give it up to the other guy who got their first, this campsite was spectacular & clean! They did give us a different spot that was nice & the camp host was kind, but ngl it left a bad taste not getting the one we wanted after planning all those weeks in advance.

It was the last days of May and turned out to be too hot to be in camp during the day. Once you had shade it was fine except for the flies which were persistent and plentiful. Friday night the 31st there was a large group of kids on the opposite side of the campground from the hosts that were obnoxiously loud until the early hours of the morning so I had to screw my earplugs in real tight. All that having been said, the Chisos Mt. Campground is beautifully situated and has always been a very special place and the campground hosts were very friendly and I'm sure would have intervened with the loud noise but I was too tired and it was too late to get out of my sleeping bag.

We stayed in February 2024. Weather was warm during the day and got cold after sundown. 360 degree mountain view from our site (#54). There are lots of hiking trails from this campground. There is drinking water available and bathrooms, but no showers on site. We used the pay showers at Rio Grande Village store.

Our campsite was probably one of the best in the campground - #54. Level spot for parking our truck camper, shade structure, privacy, and incredible views.
