Site #57 is so pretty! The view I got stepping out of my tent every morning was insane. There's a small hill (very small) that you need to walk up and down to bring the camping gear in, but it was no big deal for me. The ground was smooth so no lumpy tent floor. Close-ish to the restrooms. Didn't mind the walk at all. Would stay again.

Wonderful campsite and the volunteers/rangers are just so friendly! Great facilities and an awesome site with a bit of altitude for cool evenings and mornings, even in June! No showers might be the only drawback, but we got ourselves rinsed in the hot springs and the Santa Elena Canyon, so it wasn't the end of the world.

This is a great site. The rest of the campground is kind of tight, but the last 4-5 sites on this small loop are nice. There’s no shade structure on this site though, so plan accordingly.

This campsite has NO SHADE. If you're coming in a hot month, I strongly recommend not staying here. It's actually fairly surprising to me given the heat in Big Bend that any campsites would even exist without some form of shade. You can filter your search based on it, though, which I failed to do. It's my own fault, but arriving after a long hot hike to discover there was no shade at all was really rough. Luckily the camp host was very kind and able to move us, but that's an anomaly. If you're here in a cooler month, it would be okay. Minus the lack of shade, the views here were amazing and it has nice privacy, and it could've been a really cool spot. Be forewarned!

Amazing views and close to the window trailhead. This area of big bend made up for the challenging high heat dessert found in the rest of the park. If I were to come to Big Bend Again this is the only area that I would stay. Otherwise, I would skip the whole park.

Loved this area of Big Bend. Hard to find an even campsite. Liked our first one on the cul-de-sac best. Small campsites but beautiful views here.

The park is beautiful and we enjoyed our trip. However, we knew we were a little early in the season and were prepared to hike either very early or later in the evening, but for the daytime there were only a few campsites that offered shade and even in the basin where temperatures were a little better the campsites were still very hot and no shade to be found to sit under. And hammocks are not allowed except on the few man made structures they have scattered on specific campsites. If every campsite had a shade it would have been a much more pleasant experience

Big Bend is an amazing park, and Chisos Camp is at the center of it! The sunset was amazing, shining on all the rocks, and the dark night sky was beautiful! Everyone we encountered at Big Bend was very helpful.

Beautiful spot. Was at site 57 and only complaint was lack of shade during the hottest afternoon. Otherwise the views were outstanding, there was a good flat spot for the tent, and I even had some cell service. Not sure it would have been as good for sleeping in a car/van/RV as I recall the parking wasn't totally flat.

This is the most beautiful campground Ive ever been to, our second time there, well worth the drive from Vermont. The views are amazing, so many great hikes right from our campsite.

I love Big Bend! We always have such an amazing experience in the park. The weather was perfect and the Chisos Basin Campground was breathtaking. I highly suggest campsite 57. It was secluded with views all around.
