Campground sites are close together, but easy to access. The campground ground has several hikes to access without driving. I also appreciated the limited generator use and no light policy. My stay was quiet, peaceful and the stars were great.

The location is so unique and beautiful. Camp sites are tight, but it's understandable trying to accommodate as many people as possible to enjoy the experience.

Great site for a 20 foot camper. Enjoyed my stay here during memorial weekend. Best view of the Chisos Mountains in the Chisos basin campground. This site is sloped. Be prepared with enough leveling blocks. It required 2 inch level on driver side, and 12 inch raise on tongue jack (Anderson block worked great)

Camping at Chisos Basin was great. Awesome views all day long. Cool at night. No cell service at campsite. Very spacious campsite, fit four tents comfortably and lots of room to spare.

Surprising excellent Verizon coverage. Was able to stream the Super Bowl. Challenging campground though. Very hilly and not many sites suitable for even a small rv.

The Rio Grande river was dried up. This was very sad and alarming.

Campsite was in a beautiful location with great views, and I even had a shelter, which was a bonus. Not having showers at the campground is kind of a big deal. It really limited the number of days I could stay there.

Our campsite was quite sloped which is a nuisance when you want your sink or shower to drain. And no, we don't carry leveling blocks because we very rarely need them. The location was very nice and I appreciated the very dark sky at night. While there is adequate running water for many uses, filling an RV fresh water tank is not permitted at this campground. Had we known this, we would have filled up the night before at the Rio Grande campground. It's kind of an expectation that when there's a dump station and running water that you can fill your tank. We would return to this campground in the future, but we would better know what to expect and be better prepared.

It would have been nice to know ahead of time that the restroom nearest to our campsite would be closed for renovation. Otherwise, the park staff was very helpful and the cleanliness of the facilities and park was outstanding.

Love Big Bend. We had an exceptional site at Chisos Basin, #52. Hope to get it again. We're excited to use Croton Springs as our camping spot in the future.

What an awesome stay! The park is absolutely beautiful, and the facilities were great as well. The campsites were well-kept, spacious, and beautiful. The bathroom facilities were well-maintained and easily accessible. Chisos is tucked away in the mountain area of the park, and the drive to get to the campground has some amazing views. The Chisos visitor center and store is about a 2-minute drive from the campground, and it is very well stocked. I can't say enough good things about our time there. Every staff member and volunteer that we encountered was very helpful and friendly, making our stay at the park a joy.

Nice flat site with plenty of space to setup multiple tents. Other sites aren't as flat or much smaller in size. The bench design is only at one side of picnic table. Not used to it in the beginning, but turn out OK.

The campsite was overtaken by wasps, bees, and mosquitos. The wasps were especially bad living in the wood in the roof above the picnic table. Maybe this would not be an issue in the winter, but it was so bad in September that I didnt even spend the night and found a primitive campsite instead.

The local Rangers were helpful and informative. Day 1 we stayed at Campsite 18 was clean and included a nice shelter that we used for meal prep and evening activities. Day 2 we hiked Laguna Meadows, the South Rim, and the East Rim. We camped at East Rim Site 3. Although it was quite hot during the day, the weather cooled overnight and the sunrise at the East Rim was spectacular.
