Beautiful park and experience. That park is natural, which we enjoyed. The problem is that we could not fill our rv with water in Chisos Basin because of a broken pump...we had to drive to Rio Grande Village to get water...I get it, the pump is broken and its Texas, it's dry, but in a country like USA, to me, it's unacceptable.

Chisos Campground is a great location right in the basin surrounded by mountains. Trails, nearby vistor center/store and some cell service are added bonuses.

Big Bend was fantastic. Window Trail that leaves right from campground was very convenient. Having multiple dogs barking for hours as well as loud music with sites that are packed in too close for comfort was not ideal. Many better camping options than Chisos Basin for visiting Big Bend National Park

We wanted a place where we could view the stars at night, and have our car legally... it was perfect for that... we came last min and were able to book the last campsite (a cancellation) the same day., whew! .. we were lucky. The campsite was very convenient and well run... well supervised. We were met by a volunteer who gave us very helpful information... although with all the information we were hoping but we still didn't have encounters with rattle snakes, skunks or bears... disappointing was ... ha ha .. not really! Really, it was GREAT!

Great campsite for our little camp trailer. Also room for a tent. Once again we enjoyed BBNP immensely.

RV/trailers are not welcomed due to narrow roads and no space for parking. My 17 feet travel trailer barely made it. No wonder. Its one of the least visited national parks.

Grounds were nice and clean. The site was great and had plenty of space even though the campers next to us had 5 tents and were encroaching. It was all good and had a wonderful time

Wasn’t crowded. The visitor center gave great information. WiFi was accessible and the campground was very nice. We stayed in two different sites, the non generator site as at the back were nicest. #6 was next to the dump station, but no smell. Look for roadrunners around the building nearest the trailhead.

Site 6 has ample room for 3 small tents and is near a bathroom.

While this campground is densely packed with people, the location can make up for it. Be prepared for people to walk through your site, theres just too many campsites squeezed into this small amount of real estate. Get out and enjoy the beautiful hikes that the chisos has to offer, ignore the other people youre sleeping in close proximity to.

This campground is located in a basin and is surrounded by absolutely stunning mountain scenery in all directions. That made for a truly amazing camping experience. Unfortunately, the actual campsites leave a lot to be desired. They have squeezed far too many into a very limited space. There is little separation between the campsites, and in fact, there is little definition of where one campsite ends and the next begins. People from neighboring campsites frequently walked within a few feet of our tent on their way to the bathroom. Tent pads are poorly defined or nonexistent and it can be difficult to find a spot to pitch a tent that is level or has a moderate slope. The sites include a roof over the picnic table which provides welcome shade. There are some truly stunning hikes in this area, although they can be a bit challenging. We really enjoyed our stay and camping here is not to be missed, but it could have been so much better with a more thoughtful campground design.
