Great initiation to the Park by Ranger Simon on the Window trail. The rangers are sooooo good and interesting. We made Lost mine trail and the Maxwell scenic drive as well as the Santa Elena canyon, all from the Chisos campground We also visited the fossil exhibit as we entered this one of a kind park.

Site #3 was fantastic. Its in the RV section, but many of the surrounding sites had tents as well. Large RVs dont really fit heremost of the vehicles were smaller RVs or camping vans. I dont think big RVs could even make it into Chisos Basin because of the narrow, winding road. I was initially worried our 8-person tent wouldnt fit, but it worked perfectly. The site is slightly elevated, offering incredible views, and the walk to the bathroom is short and easy, just down the road past Site 4. A water spigot is located near the bathrooms, and theres also a designated area there to wash dishes, which was very convenient. We used the charcoal grill provided at the site, since wood and ground fires are prohibited in the park. However, we did notice some people having ground fires at night, so ranger drive-throughs might help with enforcement. Some nearby sites would have been tight for a tent our size, but Site #3 was ideal.

Our site, 003, had great views and a nice shelter. The site is big, but the parking space is on the small side. The camp host and our neighbors were very friendly. We had an excellent time and hope to return.

First time at Big Bend and couldnt have asked for a better campsite! Location wasnt too far from the bathroom and had a fantastic view! Only small complaint was the amount of wasps/hornets surrounding the table area. A bit aggravating, but nothing we couldnt handle. Would book this site again!

The campground is self is nice but spot 3 is unusable with even a very small trailer. There isnt really much room for a tent either it should just be parking for spot 4. Terrible spot that we couldnt even use. Had to drive all the way out of the park to find another spot. I guess it might be ok car camping but it is also not level at all.

the campgrounds are very nice, well maintained, and clean. everyone at national park was friendly and helpful. some of the lots for camping are pretty close together. so, I recommend doing some research before you pick a spot to camp. on the plus side if you have more members in your group. you can get one of the spots right next to each other.

Absolutely beautiful campground, I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Big Bend. Campsite host was very friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend the Chisos Basin Loop and the Lost Mine Trail in the evening. Just make sure to plan so you don't end up on the mountain in the dark. It does get VERY windy up in the mountains, we ended up sleeping without a rain fly to prevent the tent from collapsing under the wind.

Beautiful campsite. We usually stay in Terlingua but wanted to stay in the basin this time to stargaze at any given time. Really close to the bathrooms. The camp hosts are super friendly and made us feel welcome.

This campsite was beautiful. It is very close to the bathroom but not too close. The campsites are on top of one another but we did fit 2 tents. Keep in mind how rocky the ground is and plan accordingly.

The campsite is gorgeous. I would have given it an excellent review but we picked the location close to the restroom and the second day in they started renovating the restroom. Wish I would have known that to pick a different spot. The construction noise was terrible but I understand it needs to be done. If you do pick this location you will get a newly renovated restroom as a plus. My last advice is go, you will not regret it and not want to leave.

We were at site 3 loop 1 and it was a perfect spot. The campground is well maintained with clean restroom. We enjoyed our two nights stay.

We own a class B RV. There is a dump station and potable water. However, the potable water hose end connection is not your standard garden hose variety. Why the NP or camp host has not made this simple fix is strange. Its as if the park doesnt want people to fill their small freshwater tanks with water. I ran into a camp host at the dump station and made them aware of the problem. Surely, I was not the first. After all, the host have towable campers.

Chinos basin was spectacular. The sites were clean, the stars and sunsets were beautiful, and the public restroom and campsites immaculate.

Beautiful views from campground and great hosts. We were pleasantly surprised that it cooled down at night enough to be comfortable. 108* in the daytime is no joke! We will be back in the winter to explore more!

Site was beautiful! Something great to wake up to! But only complaint is the site is fairly close to 004. Not a deal breaker cause we had a cool guy staying there, but i can imagine this wont always be the case.

In my mind, this is the best place to stay at Big Bend. The sites are very small, so do not bring a big rig or excess equipment, but the location is spectacular with easy access to excellent trails.
