Nice campground close to the beach. We saw plenty of wild life ( horse, dear, racoon, blue hron and so on). Nice biking along the road and few short hiking trail.

I must admit I was a bit "miffed" at first as I could not renew my OSV pass~ I brought cash and expected to renew it at the ranger station as i have been doing for the past 30 years. No one told me I could not do this and there was nothing posted on the website to warn me ! Please do find a way to alert people that they can no longer do these thingsin person.

We were going to stay for 2 days and ended up staying for 5 days. Great place to visit.

We loved camping at Assateague. We enjoyed the horses from a distance. We swam in the ocean and the bay and walked all the trails. We bought a permit and enjoyed driving over the sand down the island several times. It is a beautiful and peaceful, family friendly vacation spot!

Just what the doctor ordered! Quiet, peaceful, and beautiful. Awesome to take a long walk on the beach and, on the same walk, through wonderful woods. Watch the sun come up on the ocean, then watch it set over the bay. Horse and deer eating just under your window, then lay down for a spell in the grass just beyond the campsite. Off season is the best. Tough to reserve sites though. We had to piece sites together for the week. Campsite checkers!!

Mosquitoes were horrible mostly due to the proximity of our specific site to standing water (Ocean Loop 1, site 2). The beach was great though and we are looking forward to returning (just at a different site)

This is a “don’t miss” experience! The Oceanside campground was spectacular. The natural beauty of this park combined with being able to experience the wild horses can’t be beat. We loved how well the entire park was maintained including the beautiful trails, (three short trails), were to walk. April was a wonderful time to go as there were no crowds nor bugs! We will return!
